Very interesting new Google Service!

Hi there!

I wasn´t really sure where to post this so if im wrong here i apologize!

I just discovered that Google offers a map and satellite image search now...its still in a Beta Version but runs pretty nice. Also only the USA are available at the moment.

You find it under maps.google.com...

Just activate satellite on the right side of the page and start searching...friend of mine already located Bill Gates house lol and there is also the rumor that you can even fully zoom into the nuke test sites and see all the craters.

If anyone can find out the right search query would be pretty cool i think!

If you move around, you can get the rest of the world but from what I saw you couldn't zoom as far as you could with the USA.

It's not too recent though....Well, I guess by recent I mean within the last year or so....

Very cool though.....

I work with GIS every day, this isn't too new for me, but it is cool that they have it with search mode.
