The average Russian guy is sick to the pit of his stomach. They are worried to the point of depression. The country is surrounded by western nukes. Fear is palpable. The whole thing is escalating. All Russian allies have been told to leave Ukraine. As the buildup continues. If Putin takes Kyiv and NATO gets involved with troops you really are looking at a Global catastrophe. That's Putin's words. This beautiful Earth will be destroyed by psychopaths that lead an idiot tribe of monkeys.

The scenario in which this is bad is if the local population facilitated this "suicide". It will be an indicator that the draft will continue to generate discontent and lack of support. The person can be replaced with another officer to mobilize new troops, but if there are undercurrents of revolt then Putin has wider issues to deal with.

I agree. It could in fact be a suicide. I think military commanders will be targets from foreign adversaries as well as their own citizen is distasteful conflicts.

Another 'suicide' holy smoke what the heck is going on over there! Read about people falling out of windows, off balconies, etc, etc, all the time from Russia! Sounds a very dodgy place to live.
