I absolutely notice that in the past when I have occasion to call Paypal, I end up in some third world country, with a person I cannot understand, and they cannot understand me.
But that is also the case with our cable service, and I just gave up trying to call about the internet, it's hopeless.

At least you got a human being and not some phone tree answering service that won't send you to a human. Those tend to push you to their web site where they can decide to answer you or not there as opposed to speaking with a tech on their end who knows what to do.

Yes, I get that - but calling Xfinity is a mind-altering experience -
After 10 or 15 minutes of talking to a machine that won't let you past their prompts, either you get put on hold to speak to some third world country, or they (keep) telling you to go to their website, and the BEST is when they just disconnect you, so you get to start all over again!
And they wonder why we are cancelling our service. They can keep wondering.

That’s everywhere anymore my friend. I’ve been having issues with xfinity internet/tv the past week and calling the 1800 number I always get a Indian who I couldn’t understand. I gave my wife the phone and she couldn’t understand him either.

Same happened when calling the insurance number on my broke washer. Another Indian call center.

They are taking jobs away from American Citizens, it is just so distressing.
The whole world has gone mad.

For days now I have gotten the ...

Before you close your account....

Sorry there was a problem if you keep seeing this call customer service.

Also I know what Paypal claimed, but it was drawn up and since it got sent out someone in the company prepared it and someone else said yea thats a good idea. So the thinking is already there in the company so why should I continue to give them my business.

My account was suspended for years because I couldn't prove I was tax exempt. I never claimed I was so that was weird. Then last year... 15 years later I received an email saying it was active again. I don't care; I don't use it. PayPal can suck it

PP quickly backed off the misinformation fine..

An Acceptable Use Policy update recently went out in error that included incorrect information. PayPal is not fining customers for misinformation. We’re sorry for the confusion this has caused.

www.paypal.com...

It is sort of a sad statement about current ATS that no one questioned your claim that you cant cancel your account.

Do one of these apply to you?

You can't close your account if there are limitations, unresolved issues, or a balance. Here's how to close your PayPal account:

www.paypal.com...

Assuming that you resolve the issue that was preventing you from cancelling your account they have the directions on the site.

Here is how to close your account via PayPal app:

Log into PayPal App.

Click on Profile icon on upper left corner.

Scroll down until you locate Close your account.

After selecting Close your account, click on Close Account button.

Here's what happens when you close your account:

Any unpaid money requests are automatically canceled.

You lose any unused redemption codes or coupons.

www.paypal.com...

None of the above Ope.
Do you have Paypal?
THEY DID NOT CANCEL THE PART ABOUT CENSORING A PERSON THAT THEY DO NOT AGREE WITH.
IF YOU HAVE PAYPAL, JUST TRY CANCELING IT. THEN PROVE IT WITH SCREEN SHOTS THAT Redact your personal information.
We're waiting.

Yes , I use PayPal almost weekly.

They backtracked on the misinformation policy almost immediately.

An Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) notice recently went out in error that included incorrect information. PayPal is not fining people for misinformation and this language was never intended to be inserted in our policy. We’re sorry for the confusion this has caused,” a PayPal spokesperson said in a statement.

www.usatoday.com...

So you are saying these directions do not work assuming none of conditions listed apply?

"To delete your account from desktop:

Click “Settings” next to “Log out”
Find “Account options” and select “Close your account”
Enter your bank account if requested
Click “Close Account”
To delete your account from the PayPal app on your mobile phone:

Click on the profile icon in the top left corner
Scroll down and find “Close your account”
Click “Close Account”

Luckily, I hadn't used my PayPal account since eBay stopped using them exclusively.

I deleted mine in seconds, there was zero balance, and there was no hassle.

Don't forget, to delete Venmo too, if you have it. PayPal owns them

Your financial institution can do a stop payment on Paypal as well.

PayPay accounts are held at Wells Fargo Bank with a routing number and an account number for EFT, but Wells Fargo will not acknowledge the numbered accounts or accept deposits or requests for withdrawals at their brick-and-mortar branches. I stopped carrying a cash balance on PayPal after the fiasco with the Anti-Defamation League, but I still use PayPal occasionally for card purchases etc.

Which part of the above has anything to do with trusting PayPal vs just running a copy paste from a site?

Are you claiming that they are still fining people who post information, if so can you please post proof of that.

That is simply not true.

If you have none of the conditions that they list on their site you can absolutely cancel your account via the Web or through their app.

If you have any of those scenarios you list then it becomes harder to do.

Longstanding PP user. Worked out for me more or less over the last 10 years as seller buyer. PayPal has now and without any reason locked 700 USD on my account and requesting #load of documents in order to unfreeze my account.
Here's what I did in case you're in the same situation. Forced a refund over the plattform I sold the product. Now my balance is zero. Never trusted them so far to leave open balance on my account. Tried to close my account which was refused. I was still able to remove all CC and bank information so that they want be able to charge fees for inactive accounts as just announced. I guess Paypal like to keep accounts active no matter what in order to makeshareholder statistics look good. PP has turned orwellian. PP is not a bank. Its all about the great reset. Next stop your uptodate VAXX certificate in order to get your money.

Yeah i tried closing my paypal account to. No luck. I sent an email asking them to close it and not allow anymore payments to go through. No response, no luck. A payment went through. Cancelled all payments. Closed my commonwealth bank of australia account that i had been meaning to close for years. Paypal was the push to close it. Removed paypal as a payment option on my iphone. Paypal doesn’t deserve anyones business.

ING is my bank now. They’re quite good.
