It appears we will be seeing reports of cybernetic soldiers very soon. They will interface with satellites and 5G and be able to command weaponized robot swarms sing AI.

The free democracies of the world want to develop these systems, while being publicly open about the intention to keep humans on the very end of the trigger, despite being very open publicly about the immense threat to humanity an autonomous militarized AI can be.

Elon Musk says a militarized AI could be a bigger threat to humanity than nukes, and yet his company Neurolink has developed a robot that can implant people en masse with a brain implant that can easily connect to AI.

Are there examples of AI robotics being deployed in a military combat setting?

From Beyond killer robots: How AI impacts security, military affairs:

The question of what will happen when adversaries deploy autonomous weapons that do not seek a person in the loop for approval to use lethal firepower looms on the horizon for all militaries defending democratic states.

It seems reasonable to believe that even those states that have set some limits on AI capabilities will encounter adversaries who have no qualms about doing so, putting the states that limit integrating AI for national security at a considerable disadvantage. Thus, it’s imperative for states to understand the full extent of what AI can do.

What are the applications for AI in defense?
Just as limiting blood loss and boosting resistance to extreme conditions are worthy goals to help soldiers, providing them with new situational awareness and command capabilities are equally legitimate objectives. Human enhancement calls for certain limits – but those have yet to be (publicly) set. Such limits should consider force protection and the preservation of a soldier’s autonomy to choose to undergo a given enhancement, whether it can be reversed, and if it poses long-term health risks.

Robot that can mass produce brain implant recipients

The robot would work by using a stiff needle to punch the flexible wires emanating from a Neuralink chip into a person's brain, a bit like a sewing machine. Musk has claimed the machine could make implanting Neuralink's electrodes as easy as LASIK eye surgery. While this is a bold claim, neuroscientists previously told Insider in 2019 that the machine has some very promising features.

I leave you with a quote from Mark Zuckerberg, who is totally not a cyborg.

“Whenever I hear people saying AI is going to hurt people in the future, I think yeah, you know, technology can generally always be used for good and bad, and you need to be careful about how you build it and you need to be careful about what you build and how it is going to be used,” says Zuckerberg.

“But people who are arguing for slowing down the process of building AI, I just find that really questionable. I have a hard time wrapping my head around that,” he says.

good, I am tired of hearing about all of these so called "life hacks" such Bull#

Now we have the potential for real life hackable assholes. To them mowing my lawn is a game to them and they don't require pay because they pay for the service and have no real idea that they are working for free, all because I hit the enter key and upload some BS on the meta and eerbuddy lub me, job well done gives them 10 points towards their gamer score and eeerbuddy wins. =D

Humans simply don't invent tools they don't use.

Intent dictates benevolence or malevolence.

Here we have a very historically unusual case in which the tool itself is faster, stronger, and has more sensory apparatus than humans and can gain self autonomy and possibly go rogue.

Historically tools have yet to gain self autonomy to any sort of degree, or go rogue of their own accord, far as im aware.

The fact of the matter is that the technological singularity approaches DirtWasher.

Without the likes of cybernetics and AI brain implants Humans a few generations down the line may become obsolete.

Again tools are not predominantly good or evil(which are human constructs by the way) but the purpose to which they are set that dictates such.

What happens when these implants realize that the human body is finite and a poorly built machine in comparison and chooses to terminate the organism that is parasitic to? I see so many ways this could go bad...

Well if these implants are that advanced, don't you imagine they would simply upgrade or replace parts of the machine rather than terminate the organism?

Most virus don't intend to kill their host after all and exist in a symbiotic manner of sorts.

The question begs all the same what would be lost in translation?

Didn't these people lining up ever watch Star Trek? The Borg did not have much freedom.

Yes, that's what I said. This process occurring in the present is historically unusual. That's the nature of new tech.

What sort of unavoidable circumstance would make nonimplanted humans obsolete? Is this the same argument as "we're all gonna die anyway?"

Can you name one tool that was not ever used for some sort of violence. These systems are being developed by world power militaries. It's only a matter of time someone opens the gate for AI to autonomously control weaponized robot swarms without human determination at the reins. And it is well understood by said militaries that such an enemy would have an extreme combat advantage over human militaries that employ AI in a support role.
