More and more companies are working with linux machines these days. That, with office open-source is a very cheap competative combination.
Windows is just too expensive, why would a companie pay for all the certificates for every machine they have, while you can legally download a free office version, which is almost as good as 'the real thing'.

It's pretty frikkin' simple... if YOU want to pay hundreds of dollars for a frikkin' piece of crap software then please do so... I will download my more superior and flexible software for free... and contribute to its development at that.
