Best way to counter that # is to move to a small community where everyone knows each other in my opinion.

No traffic jams.

No anonymous bickering over bull#.

Each encounter is a face you recognize.

That's what I want.

We're not meant to live on top of each other in the millions where you don't know if you can trust anyone.

I would love to be part of a small community. Away from the bright lights and the rat race. Closer to nature would be nice.

Then these identity politics will simply fade away.

Someplace people are just familiars without the masks we wear in the big city.

You're right, that is the bigger question.

The problem is most people want peace and are willing to leave others alone believing it is the ethical way to live so they find it hard to imagine there are those who would do anything to get power over others and hurt them. We don't think that way so we deny it's happening yet we see the evidence. Once the damage hits close to home for enough people the awakening process will begin and it will be ugly. Rage will be expressed by the masses like we have never seen in our lifetimes.
