I remember around 1987 or so I was stationed near Frankfurt Germany. I used to hit the record stores there as much as possible. At the time I was
really into goth rock. Not so much as others, but as much to buy this and that. Anyway I bought this album and aside from the first song, this is
probably one of the best pre- industrial music albums to ever happen.
Mostly vocal, but using quite a bit of banging on steel and industrial horror metal pangs... whatever, it is what it is.
Macht kaputt was euch kaputt macht (break what breaks you)
The title hits the bullseye nowadays way better than maybe ever before.
And here is a video of Nikel Pallat from Ton, Steine, Scherben in a live TV talkshow, unpacking an axe, destroying half of the studio and after that
stealing the mics because they are still of good use. The action starts at around 1.50, have fun:
Cheers
