Cops don’t give a damn.

Today I was riding a push bike home from work, I use the pedestrian crossing and was waiting at the red man.

I look to the right and there is a cop car going the same direction.

I got the green man and started riding a metre or two, suddenly this huge van ran the red light. I have a air horn on my bike and held it down.

The stupid cop looks at me and smiles, I gesture to the red light runner, he didn’t go after the.

Ffs they don’t give a damn about human life.

it's weird that police would not act, maybe there are cams, and they don't need to go after him. Why risk anything when they've got his number plate.
I always kick the cars in the side when they don't stop at the crossing, when they stop all pissed, I'm like: so sorry didn't see you coming and my foot was going already, it's really my fault, let's call the cops, shall we?
they turn around and go on their way.

maybe they just bagged someone, that had the goods on the cops, in that van, and they're rushing to the lake before it dries out completely...

Considering it’s a busy intersection there are no red light cameras. It’s not the first time I have had close calls there, another time I was more than halfway across when this woman comes flying at me she hit the anchors.

I looked at as she stopped about a metre from me. I go what’s up. She waves me to move.

This set me off I stood there and held her up, and went off at her and all the cross traffic was road raging her. Job done.

It could be that (if this in the states, depending on which state) that a pedal bike (which I assume you mean by push bike) is considered a vehicle and is required to use the areas reserved for vehicles.

So the cop could be "well, that's what you get." That said, instant karma requires the officer going after the red light runner. Of course he could be off duty and not allowed to stop the offender because of budgetary issues. Or he may have just radioed ahead to another patrol car. Or he may not have even been a patrol officer.

Minorities look at cops like it is payday wondering how they can get paid for anything a cop does...

News Flash: MOST LEO's...give a damn.

Given the crap that cops have to deal with now - between de-funding, anti-LEO attacks, seeing the criminals they arrest turned back out on the street and not prosecuted, and being prosecuted for just doing their job - I don't blame them if they don't care. If I were a cop and still on the job, I'd just punch in, muddle thorough my shift at the nicest doughnut shop I could find and go home at the end of the day.

We have a law here that you can't do a rolling stop thingy, have to come to a full stop then creep forward to see around the bushes. My grandpa even got a fine for it.

A cop nearly hit me when I was walking doing this very same thing. I suppose the practice is sound in terms of safety but they don't apply the same rules to themselves and no they don't give a damn.

In the UK the law states quite clearly that if you are riding a pushbike and want to use ANY pedestrian crossing you MUST dismount and walk you cycle across the crossing. NOT ride across.

That’s the law here as well and it is how I cross zebra crossings and pedestrian crossings.

Dunno if it is in Rob’s state.

You should look before entering traffic. The van didn’t appear out of nowhere, be aware of your surroundings.

The cop, while an easy target for you, is not at fault.

I am 100% sure they never did.

I didnt get why republicans or at least alt right was so against blm (before they rioted). Police overeach and general bad practices have been a long term issue for many on the right. As soon as the left starts a movement for police reform (focusing on race) the right immiatedly dismissed the movement instead of adding to it and trying to create reform.

There are great cops but also bad ones which good cops look the other way.

We really do need reform and the both sides should come together.

BLM was always disingenuous as a movement. It’s founders are caught up in embezzlement and only used the movement as a cash grab for themselves.

Why do you think republicans should support bad ideas? And guess what, they lead to riots, billions and billions in damages and oh yeah- people died.

Since you wish “both sides” to “come together”, why don’t you join us in not supporting bad ideas? Doors open.
