makes sense they'd be satanic since their origins are pagan

so anything pagan to Christians is bad , accept the bits that they like to take for their own religion

according to what you said Christians think they are evil

but Greeks think that Artemis had all these positive attributes

so who is right the greeks or the christians that disagreed with their religious practices?

in todays world we practice religious tolerance , well the majority of us do, back then religious were struck down left right and center.

so what is you think about the mission being named "artemis" do you think its some sort of religious offering to satan?

or is it just that they used the name to stick with the already established convention of naming them after mythological deities

I think the latter makes more sense , anyway if we are to name a rocket Artemis and fire it up to the heavens to goto the moon that god created then it all must be a part of his plan right? So why worry

Artemis was Apollo's sister, and there is a stated aim of the program to send a woman to the moon this time.

The use of names from Roman and Greek mythology fits with the names of the planets.

If I am remembering correctly then the Saturn V is still the big bad boy of rockets
and I dont think anything we have currently really compares in terms of power and size
im sure its still the largest and has the most power

7.6 million pounds of thrust

Is there a way to explain how powerful 7.6 million pounds of thrust is? (i.e. It's 10% of what is needed to reach Warp 1.)

How Apollo was named:

www.nasa.gov...

Silverstein chose the name "Apollo" after perusing a book of mythology at home one evening in 1960. He said the image of "Apollo riding his chariot across the sun was appropriate to the grand scale of the proposed program."

How other names were chosen:

well having watched some NASA videos on the new rocket , i hear that it has its boosters which offer 7.2million pound of thrust which is enough energy to make it 75% of the way out of the earths atmosphere with the remainder being provided by the central rocket.

heres a better explanation from the NASA site about the Saturn V

The rocket generated 34.5 million newtons (7.6 million pounds) of thrust at launch, creating more power than 85 Hoover Dams. A car that gets 48 kilometers (30 miles) to the gallon could drive around the world around 800 times with the amount of fuel the Saturn V used for a lunar landing mission

a reply to: gortex -- From the SpaceFlight Now website is a detailed schematic of the main rocket:

CNN reports today that despite several lower-powered lightning strikes on the Artemis launch pad yesterday, no damage was done and Artemis is A-OK for Monday's (tomorrow's) launch.
