I do have to wonder what the reaction would be if this ends up being a worst case scenario for Trump. Let's say the FBI did find classified documents related to our nuclear arsenal. Let's also say that, while scrubbing through footage from the security cameras, they find footage of Trump meeting with MBS and showing him the documents around the same time as Jared's $2 billion deal with the Saudis.

Would Trump's supporters be demanding that he be arrested for treason?

Like I said, this would be the worst case scenario and isn't likely to have occurred. But the fact that it's not out of the realm of possibility is sad.

If he sold out the country for 2 million dollars, I think it would bring much more questions than answers, but if he did anything bad, arrest him. Now, conversely, if they didn't find something like this, and it's just another in a long line of illegal witch hunts, will you admit that and denounce it, or will you runnoft and feign outrage at the next lie?

Can you just draft an arrest warrant and actually slap some cuffs on a former president? Everything about this is unpreceded so I imagine things will take a bit more time as they work through this details if applicable.

apparently you can just round up 30 buddies with select fire weapons and raid an ex presidents house, so once you step that far, if you have proof he's a bad guy, arrest him quick. Good lord, he might blow up the world! (I know, that was the fear for his entire time in office, but this time,,,,it's fo real)

Trump Admin-Saudi Nuclear Probe Resurfaces Ahead of Warrant Unseal

"We don't know why Trump took classified nuclear docs," Legum said in a follow-up tweet. "But certain nuclear information would have very high economic value to Saudi Arabia and other governments." Fordham University law professor Jed Shugerman tweeted: "Why would Trump want to keep nuclear documents?" "It is time to review the 2019 House Oversight Committee's stunning allegations of nuclear corruption," between the Trump administration and "Saudi/Qatar." Newsweek subscription offers > That committee report made a number of accusations against the Trump administration, including that it tried "to rush the transfer of highly sensitive U.S. nuclear technology to Saudi Arabia." This was without congressional review and in potential violation of the Atomic Energy Act that restricts the export of U.S. nuclear technology.

What will be interesting to see is if these are really classified documents on US nuclear weapons and US nuclear capability because Trump himself has said that he has the privilege to declassify things as he wants......potentially implying that he could declassify nuclear information if he wanted and give it to whom ever he wants. That would be truly scandalous.

Yeeh, well i dont know is that even possible, to declassify such sensitive matters as nuclear/national security ...

I noticed the protocols are quite strict with classified documents & their appropriate storage.

By the way, has anyone else seen the conspiracy theories tying this to Ivana's death? The theory suggests that Trump used her casket to hide the documents. The evidence being used to support this claim is the fact that her casket required 10 pallbearers, opposed to the standard six, despite the fact that she was a petite woman that was cremated.

I had not! Down the rabbit hole I go.

Are you thinking like a canary trap? Where Trump feeds false info to suspected moles and waits to see if it leaks? Or, in this case, is shared with authorities?

That's what I've been wondering 🤔

Yes, in a way.. More along the lines of knowing this Administration is corrupt and by setting them up to walk into a trap, they expose themselves when/if he ends up having to go on trial.

Okay... I'll bite and entertain this theory for a while.

So presuming this is true, we must also presume that they'll be dug up again at some future date... but how could that be done without someone noticing? If not as it happens, then after the fact when the grave has obviously been disturbed?

Is it even legal to exhume a buried corpse on a whim?

I am seeing some early reports that “nuclear documents” were sought and seized at Mar-a-lago.

That story ORIGINATED with the Washington Post yesterday early evening. It's a (imo) deflection from the truth, but WaPo is respected by 90% of the media, so they all repeated it blindly.

Yes, potentially. I saw your other post about what it could be. I guess we will see later today one way or the other.

I can definitely see Trump doing something like this. Trump may or may not have expected it to go this far, but I doubt that would have stopped him anyway. Trump could also be trying to bring matters to a head and into the public purview. Court cases are good for that.

Since Trump has mentioned "Obama's" name twice in connection with the seized documents this week, along with things stated by Trump WhiteHouse Insider __, the unredacted version of www.dni.gov... is a good bet.

Pretty much every move the DoJ and FBI make are done without White House oversight. Do you think the President is consulted on any search warrants. It looks like the FBI and DoJ tried to approach this as business as usual in a hopes of minimizing claims of it being a political witch hunt.

Yeah, I'm sure the White House had no knowledge of a raid on a former President's house. Especially not these same people and agencies who created a fake dossier to attempt to bring down Trump in the not-so-distant past.

I think the assumption is that there would be no attempt to retrieve the documents. If this theory were true, Trump was merely using the funeral to dispose of any evidence knowing no judge would order an exhumation based on flimsy evidence.

once you storm the gates of a former president, anything finds it's way to being "on the table".

why not just flush them down the toilet? that seems to have been working "swimmingly" thus far.

If that's the plan, they're bigger fools than I ever would have guessed. I wouldn't take such a chance. If there is no future need for the docs, just destroy them completely. I'd dig myself a nice big firepit....

Why is executing a legal search warrant against a former president supposed to be off the table in the first place? Are they above the law?

Yup. If Trump doesn't need/want them for future purposes, why not just destroy them completely? And if he does want them for future purposes, there's gotta be better places to hide them.

This whole debacle just gets curiouser and curiouser.
