Here we go--finally some good news for once! This is the first settled class action lawsuit regarding the COVID vaccine mandates. The lawsuit was filed by 500 healthcare workers against NorthShore University Health System who required workers to be vaccinated and did not allow exemptions. NorthShore is now required to pay 10.3 million to employees who were denied religious exemptions from taking the COVID shot.

The lawsuit mentions these were religious exemptions, but from what I've personally witnessed, doctors would avoid giving out exemptions to people with specific health conditions such as allergies to PEG which made the COVID shot contraindicated, forcing these employees to get the shot or be fired. Many with families choose to get it and play literal Russian Roulette with their lives. So while it's nice to have this constitutional precedent for religious exemptions, we also need to focus on medical freedom as it related to a persons bodily autonomy. A one sized fits all medical approach is never good and makes zero sense.

Employees who were terminated because of their religious refusal of the COVID shots will be eligible for rehire if they apply within 90 days of final settlement approval by the court, and they will retain their previous seniority level.

Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel said: “This classwide settlement providing compensation and the opportunity to return to work is the first of its kind in the nation involving COVID shot mandates. This settlement should be a wake-up call to every employer that did not accommodate or exempt employees who opposed the COVID shots for religious reasons. Let this case be a warning to employers that violated Title VII. It is especially significant and gratifying that this first classwide COVID settlement protects health care workers. Health care workers are heroes who daily give their lives to protect and treat their patients. They are needed now more than ever.”

The narrative is collapsing.

Well hopefully they go back to work so we have more than just some drones pushing dangerous experiments on people. I know I lost a ton of faith in the healthcare community. It will take a long time to restore their reputation.

It will never ever be restored. Honestly if doctors think they can just go with the flow when they are knowing doing harm... that will never ever be forgotten or forgiven.

They'll say, "We were just following orders."

Where have we heard that before?

Great now everyone in the lawsuit will get a check cut to them for two dollars and sixty three cents. Just a slap in the face is all this is.

Actually it would be closer to $20,600 a piece, still not entirely substantial considering what was lost, but it's certainly better than pennies.

It's a slap in the face.my finances work didn't even show up to the unemployment hearing and the judge still sided in favor of the hospital that fired her for being pregnant and refusing the shot.her ex coworkers are quitting weekly due to short staffed situation. This is gonna affect everyone that needs medical care.

Maybe they weren't really doing it for the money.
Maybe they were doing it, because it needed to be done, to prove a point.

It should NOT have been mandated, by ANY company!

Settling outside of court hides blame and responsibility.

It's sad it's taken this long for even the smallest amount of justice to happen.
