Why a real Alien Invasion will probably involve Kaijus like Independence Day.

These things are too big to exist. They'd break their bones just walking, because they'd be crushed by the weight of their bodies. And the isn't enough oxygen in the air for them to breath, their muscles would use it faster than their lungs could absorb it.

I always figured entities like Godzilla were somewhat supernatural, or at least were part of some unknown science phenomenon.

They're fictional creatures.

There's a basic mathematical rule, every time you double the size you square the complexity.

This means that something that's huge in size requires complex systems to keep it alive, and those complex systems require resources to keep them functioning. A huge heart, massive lungs. These things need water and oxygen to function, the bigger they are the more they need. And the large the body needs to be to support them.

Unfortunately, the materials available to create the body have to obey the laws of physics, which means that they have a maximum tensile and a maximum compressive strength. Which means that they must also have defined weights.

A creature the size of a sky scraper would either need to be incredibly light, and thus incredibly weak, or the weight of its body would crush it's legs.

I'm told that most (large) dinosaurs
could not survive present day conditions
