things were already hell in a hand basket before the election, biden has no hand in what's happening, dont act like our economy was doing well under trump, it hasn't been doing well since 2000, there's been barely any economic growth and recession after recession has occurred and numerous other issues for 20 years plus. trump would fail just as much as biden has during this situation. so anyone smart probably doesn't feel much remorse I'd imagine.

I don't know the first thing about you, but you sound like any number of angry middle class white Democrats I know. Maybe you're not one, but that's who you look like posting nonsense like that. If you're not one of them you should maybe question why you sound like one.

Because yes, as long as spoiled, middle- and upper-class white Democrats aren't getting everything handed to them, the economy is "terrible."

Meanwhile, in the real world...

Before covid crippled the economy, Trump years saw income inequality start shrinking for the first time in decades - Reuters

The working class saw the biggest percentage gains.

Income inequality in the United States narrowed in the first three years of the Trump administration as rising wages and a low unemployment rate fueled gains for lower-income and less educated families, according to U.S. Federal Reserve data released on Monday.

But the data did reflect a pause at least in the long trend toward wealth and income becoming more concentrated in the upper end. Overall, for example, average incomes fell, but that was driven by a decline in incomes among the top earners. Excluding the richest 1% of families, average incomes rose about 3.1% between 2016 and 2019.

Wait, you mean the people whose pockets Trump was supposedly lining LOST income? And the little people, the ones Democrats supposedly care about but never help, gained on them?

Yeah, you never heard that from any of your trusted "news" sources.

Particularly interesting:

There were proportionately larger gains in wealth as well for Black and Hispanic families, the Fed said. Median net worth rose 33% for Black families and 65% for Hispanic families, compared with a 3% gain in the median for white families. However the absolute gap remained large: the median net worth for white families, at $188,200, was nearly eight times that of the $24,100 median for Blacks, and over five times that of the $36,100 of Hispanic families.

Of course Democrats would hate that economy. They want minorities stuck in abject poverty so they can promise them the world over and over in exchange for their vote, despite never delivering no matter how much control they are given over government.

Got video or photo evidence of such claims, or is this another one of those possibly made up anecdotes?

I can't possibly be the only one who wants to see Trump making a clown of himself on the dancefloor.

When the people stuffing voting boxes only think about the money they get to do it and don’t care about the future, well, you see how they were played because of the short term gain for a long time problem. They just don’t care. It doesn’t affect them or so they think.

My state doesn't even need to count to declare the winner. Polls close. Blue. N/A

But I have another wordy answer.

I think the Executive branch is all a dog and pony show. It's like the one memorable line in Armegeddon: Republican administration, Democrat administration, All controlled by interest rates.

What any administration does while in office seems more and more a placebo. A mass illusion of choice despite being a global economy slave either way. "No worldwide depression!", the goal of every country that trades.

It's convenient to blame whoever's in power. And that's the design of this globalized slavery. One may get gifted an unheard of bull economy and not fuss with it too much and take credit. The next gets the bill for the pandemic, a disruptive European war, and gets turned on a spit for it.

And if you don't like that example, let's go with President H. W. Bush. Pretty much the brains behind both Reagan administrations, one of his own, and the one stuck with The Black Friday recoil.

Reaganomics was great until the Japan 80's tech bubble popped and sent the West into a spin with it. Bush Sr. did what the global economy demanded he do and raised upper class taxes a modest percentage. His approval rating tanked and he became a Late Nite TV vomit joke. Then everyone was won over by a red state whitewater investor. Who actually just rode out the changes his predecessor made (with a slight tweak), drafted some trade agreement, and took credit for the rebounded economy. The internet stock driven economy.

The dot com bubble popped just in time for W. Bush. Who could only lower the tax rate .5% one year, and .5% the next until a wartime economy and lower interest rates allowed him to lower it another 3.6%.

And it's been between 35 and 40% every since. Even through a few more economic bubbles. Everything presidents do seems like smoke and mirrors from what really effects me.

West has been lucky too. A bull market from 2009 through covid. Officially entering bear territory this year. (With a 33 day covid downturn in 2020) . That usually means a year or so and then a worldwide rebound (that could last another 2-13 years) and that has nothing to do with mumbling Joe's token liberal initiatives. Or Trumps token isolationism, where he builds a fence and changes an acronym in a "totally new" trade agreement.

81 million is not most.

I don’t see Democrats swinging from the rafters with joy.

Jimmy Carter is smiling.

Yep ..knew America was going...but not into Clown World. It did.

And? I didn't vote for either puppet.

My only beef with him and why I regretted voting him is his hit the bee's nest attitude. He takes zero precaution and just butts headlong which works where the situation needs but can easily back fire when in the wrong place/wrong time. It's not like the movies/video games where the invincible hero never dies.

I think it depends on where you live. He may live in the same state I do where we never got the Trump recovery but other places that had like minded people almost immediately saw a recovery.

Like I said whether or not you want to believe it is up to you but Oregon's last big boom was the early 00s. Stores over expanded here and freeways/highways had talks of major expansion but didn't have time to put into paper when Bush went socialist in 2006 he started doing 'funny' things which Obama ramped it up X ten. Trump was able to reverse some of it but not all of it so we got partial affects. It's like a 3 legged stool only having 1 leg.

I don't think we're in disagreement. Things were starting to improve under Trump. The pandemic and then Biden winning were a double whammy.

Not as fun as getting you to do the legwork and watch you stroke your ego over supposedly being a DJ at some VIP parties with Trump and the gang.
