You keep saying these things and I have no reason to not believe you.

However, I'm sourcing all the documents that refute those anecdotes.

Here's another:

§ 478.134 Sale of firearms to law enforcement officers.

a.Law enforcement officers purchasing firearms for official use who provide the licensee with a certification on agency letterhead, signed by a person in authority within the agency (other than the officer purchasing the firearm), stating that the officer will use the firearm in official duties and that a records check reveals that the purchasing officer has no convictions for misdemeanor crimes of domestic violence are not required to complete Form 4473 or Form 5300.35. The law enforcement officer purchasing the firearm may purchase a firearm from a licensee in another State, regardless of where the officer resides or where the agency is located.

b.
1.The following individuals are considered to have sufficient authority to certify that law enforcement officers purchasing firearms will use the firearms in the performance of official duties:

i.In a city or county police department, the director of public safety or the chief or commissioner of police.

ii.In a sheriff's office, the sheriff.

iii.In a State police or highway patrol department, the superintendent or the supervisor in charge of the office to which the State officer or employee is assigned.

iv.In Federal law enforcement offices, the supervisor in charge of the office to which the Federal officer or employee is assigned.

2.An individual signing on behalf of the person in authority is acceptable, provided there is a proper delegation of authority.

c.Licensees are not required to prepare a Form 4473 or Form 5300.35 covering sales of firearm made in accordance with paragraph (a) of this section to law enforcement officers for official use. However, disposition to the officer must be entered into the licensee's permanent records, and the certification letter must be retained in the licensee's files.

Here ya are:

"The possession, manufacture, or sale of a firearm silencer is permitted under MCL 750.224(1)(b) if the person is licensed or approved to possess, manufacture, or sell such a device by the federal Bureau of Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, as required by MCL 750.224(3)(c)"

There you go. Paperwork in store, then out the door.

*I didnt state the source as I found it everywhere on the Mi Penal Codes.

From Silencer Central:

How much faster will the Electronic Form 4 be?
When it comes to the government – and especially the ATF – one can never know for sure. Presently, we don’t know how much faster it will be. With that said, our research based on previous electronic Form 4 approvals and the current electronic Form 1 approvals suggests that once this process gets rolling, the total time needed to secure a transfer approval of a silencer should be reduced from the current 10 months (or more) wait time, to just 60-90 days – hopefully less.

I've never been arrested, the most trouble I've ever been in was a speeding ticket... It took *thirteen* months to get my tax stamp to put a muffler that wouldn't take an hour to build on my 10/22.

The law is dumb and should have never existed.

That's with a CCW permit.

from their site:

HERE’S A PREVIEW OF THE STEPS YOU’LL NEED TO TAKE IN ORDER TO PURCHASE AND RECEIVE YOUR SUPPRESSOR:
Find out whether silencers are legal to own in your state.
Select the suppressor that’s right for you.
Buy your silencer and tax stamp.
Let us handle the paperwork and submit your eForm.
Let us help you set up a FREE NFA Gun Trust.
Use our eZ-Pay for it while you wait.
Get your silencer shipped to your door upon approval.

Try this, call them, tell them you have the money to buy one, and you want to walk out with it today, can you do that? I'm about 99% sure the answer is NO.

If theres a way around the wait time, I'd love to hear it.

Merely having a CCW or a CPL is not a way around this from anything I've read or know to be true.

Sigh, me too. in the end, it won't matter, but I try to deal in factual things, and currently, in the United States of America, you have a few hoops to jump through to get a suppressor legally, and a CCW isn't going to negate those hoops.

If you care to understand the facts, you can call the gun store and ask them if you pay today, can you leave today with your can. They will say no.

In fact, I just called them and verified what I said is 100% accurate.

I asked about wait time, thinking I had heard of improvement, I was told it sped up from 180 days to about 90-120. Baby steps.

Lots of cases going through SCOTUS and such since Bruen.

Really hoping the NFA can be gutted if not eliminated.
