So even CNN is admitting the dangers of having the CCP provide critical infrastructure. For once I applaud CNN for a good story which frankly I did not expect.

It is well worth reading the entire article. To put this stuff into our networks is suicide. It is clearly has a spying and first strike disruption capability.

CNN Exclusive: FBI investigation determined Chinese-made Huawei equipment could disrupt US nuclear arsenal communications

www.cnn.com...

Among the most alarming things the FBI uncovered pertains to Chinese-made Huawei equipment atop cell towers near US military bases in the rural Midwest. According to multiple sources familiar with the matter, the FBI determined the equipment was capable of capturing and disrupting highly restricted Defense Department communications, including those used by US Strategic Command, which oversees the country's nuclear weapons.
While broad concerns about Huawei equipment near US military installations have been well known, the existence of this investigation and its findings have never been reported. Its origins stretch back to at least the Obama administration. It was described to CNN by more than a dozen sources, including current and former national security officials, all of whom spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

Report: FBI Believes Huawei Telecom Equipment Can Capture and Disrupt U.S. Military Communications

www.breitbart.com...

An FBI investigation into Chinese land purchases near critical infrastructure as well as the Huawei equipment found on many American cell towers has found the Chinese company’s telecom gear capable of capturing and even disrupting U.S. military communications, including that of the U.S. Strategic Command, which oversees America’s nuclear arsenal, according to a report by CNN.

Donald Trump put policies in place largely banning Huawei from the United States, considerably damaging the company’s profits, but the equipment remains on many cell towers, including those strategically placed near critical military infrastructure.

So, their network equipment is "capable of capturing and disrupting" communications.

Does that mean that equivalent equipment from other companies are not? Or is that something that all those types of equipment are capable off?

there's a chinese company wanting to build a wet cornmill in Grand Forks, North Dakota, just 12 miles from Grandforks AFB home for the 319th Reconnaissance Wing

The wing operates E/RQ-4B Global Hawk remotely piloted aircraft, delivering surveillance and reconnaissance to combatant commands. The wing comprises two groups and nine squadrons operating globally. Additionally, the 319th supports the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Office of Air and Marine–North Dakota Air Branch and its National Air Security Operations Center that operate MQ-9 Reapers out of Grand Forks AFB.[2]

i can't find the article that said it, but in that one during talks over it they promised they wouldn't be spying from there.

sure their not going to spy on the U.S.

here are a couple of other articles on it, so far it looks like their going to start building in 2023.

both Democratic chairman and the Republican ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee heads are against it.

The base is also the home of a new space networking center, which a North Dakota senator said handles “the backbone of all U.S. military communications across the globe.”
Now some security experts warn the Chinese corn milling plant should be stopped, because it could offer Chinese intelligence unprecedented access to the facility.

Chinese company’s purchase of North Dakota farmland raises national security concerns in Washington

Security concerns grow over Chinese project near U.S. Air Force base

CNBC reported Thursday it obtained a memo composed by Air Force Major Jeremy Fox earlier this year, which asserted that the Chinese plant would pose an intelligence threat.
“Some of the most sensitive elements of Grand Forks exist with the digital uplinks and downlinks inherent with unmanned air systems and their interaction with space based assets,” the memo warned.
Likewise, the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission said in a report that “the location of the land close to the base is particularly convenient for monitoring air traffic flows in and out of the base, among other security-related concerns.”
Is China building a huge spy complex in US?

sometimes i just can't believe how naive some people in the U.S. are. I can understand wanting to sell your land for big bucks. but to sell it to a company that is based in china and controlled by the CCP. the the dumb ass mayor and other people in town, it just plain stupid.

China also uses lots of made in US components in many sectors, especially computer chips, this is called globalization, does it mean US can disrupt China anytime it wants?

China does not need to disrupt anything. I'm sure they would love to have access to communications, though. The USA nuclear defense system originally created to implement MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) during the Cold War with Russia is still a major deterrent to anyone wishing to attack the US. China does not want to attack the USA at this time; China wants to be the world's premiere economic superpower, and for now they need the US to continue buying their goods to accomplish that goal.

However, China is also very protective of Taiwan. If we keep interfering with their plans there... well, all bets are off. The CCP is anything but dumb; they want that ace in the hole of knowing everything about our nuclear defense capabilities. So does Russia, and Russia certainly does not need the US. But Russia is becoming fast allies with China, thanks to Joe Biden.

I'm curious: exactly what "components" of computer chips are you referring to?

Taiwan is an unfinished civil war business. US gets involved and start doing even more Evil # to mainland China like Vietnam war dumping chemical agents it would make US completely guilty. We all know how much certain Americans would love to do that genocidal mode on the Chinese.

Messing with China is a losing ball game right now because too many Americans and internal enemies who has their own agenda against Chinese are willing to do evil stuff just by joining US arm forces. Americans really need to check their army for dual citizenship and their allies.

Pelosi has a planned trip there soon, Biden says the military doesn't
want her to go. What a strange set of offness between the two.

What is she really up to I wonder?

The fact that Chinese can get the chips from USA must be because some actors in USA have enabled it ? They really should rethink strategy
