Cocaine causes the signaling molecule dopamine to build up in the brain, resulting in continual stimulation of dopamine-sensing neurons. This dopamine overload can damage the cells that respond to the molecule--some of the same cells that wither in people with Parkinson's disease.
Parkinsonism. Former single case reports described Parkinsonism in chronic coc aine users, but an epidemiological study did not confirm an increased risk of Parkinson’s disease. Here we report a patient, who developed Parkinsonism in young age after chronic coc aine use, in whom a homozygous LRRK2 risk variant was also detected.

A friend of mine was in a study at Yale New Haven Hospital and 12 out of the 14 people who had Parkinson's were also around larger than normal amounts of pesticides, especially Round Up.
I remember him telling me how he regretted not taking more precautions during all applications of Round Up.
