Webb needs to be extremely cold to operate which is why its orbit is so far out , its Sunshield protects it from heat radiated by the Moon , Earth and Sun so it can't look in this direction.

They also said hubble couldn't look at the moon because it was too bright and would burn out the imaging sensors.
