Huh?
So it slipped to the World's 5th largest economy all by itself. 3.4 Trillion still is a pretty good GDP. Almost as much as Germany and more than
India.
IMO the state is out to prove economies run better with higher income tax on the upper class. The state that gave everyone Reagan has now turned on
trickle down theory and seems to be pulling it off. Even with companies jumping ship left and right and paying the ridiculous expatriot taxes.
Still, cant argue when the budget is 300 billion and you have almost 100 billion left over to spend like a Democrat with a budget surpluss. And not
care about 13.3% on top of the 37% given to highest tax bracket. Though there are enough loopholes that we have a lot of our millionaires not paying
much of anything.
The middle class here doesn't seem to mind that either.
The votes dont reflect it if it does. Recall? Failed by millions. For most, it's "what
is 8 or 9% on top of 22%?" That's what massive personal debt is for. And that's just California democrats. Pay to live the California Dream. Some
decide to wave so long to that dream, sunlight and head for Seattle. Or Texas. And there's been more exodus than influx the last few years, though
that recently changed with a vengeance for some reason.
People seem to like the liberal sanctuary state vibe we have now.
But not to worry. That might not be your problem anymore if momentum keeps gaining. Calexit is back with a vengeance.

And it really is a
you let us lead, or we lead
ourselves out mindset.
Lots of thoughts on leaving the Union this 4th of July weekend. Which is scary when you consider 1.1 million Californians speak Mandarin already. Ni
hao mei guo lin ju. China would jump all over it probably.
Still the growing sentiment seems to be: "You f*** off with telling us how to run our state or we'll secede".
So Calexit might be best for all interests.
For the question, "What about the 37% of Californians that are Republicans cursing the liberal hellscape"?
The answer likely is: "They can balance out the 61% that didn't want Roe V. Wade overturned."
The cyclical world of hate politics.
