She poked the head once, twice, thrice with a needle.

It wouldn’t die.

She told the head once, twice, thrice it needed to leave.

She decided to tell the head once, twice, thrice with chloral hydrate and cyanide.

But it thrives on abuse.

It decided to take notice.

It grew and grew until it swallowed all the sickness. Not unlike Jonah and the whale it swallowed her, her husband and the house.

She was the western version of an untouchable and was swallowed by the demon she lied to but unintentionally prayed to with every hit. She finally tasted god.

Firstly, the story is wonderful! I love the poetic style repetition of the 1, 2, 3 tagline. Also, it is profound and subliminal. Very well done.

Secondly, I love snakes and that picture looks like a tattoo... is it yours? I've always been torn between getting a snake or dragon tattoo; in the end, I have neither. Perhaps you've helped me decide.

Thirdly, I can't express how grateful I am for your dedication in my name. For want of better words, you made me feel fuzzy... something I haven't felt in such a long time.

Your altruistic and generous gesture is the best prize I could have received. Henceforth, I don't care if or where my stories place. Your story is the nicest thing anyone has done for me on ATS.
