You know, today, June 12, there are 2 great holidays in Russia - the Day of Russia and the feast of the Holy Trinity. Regarding the second - I know that in our forum there are few people who believe in God. But about the first - I want to say a few words.
Putin, in his address to the people today, said that, as Peter the Great, when he collected Russian lands, a new time has come to collect them after the time of scattering. As it is written in the Bible:

"To everything there is a season, and a season for every purpose under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to uproot what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to destroy, and a time to build;
a time to cry, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to scatter stones, and a time to gather stones; a time to hug, and a time to avoid hugging;
time to seek, and time to lose; a time to save, and a time to throw;
a time to tear apart, and a time to sew; a time to be silent, and a time to speak;
a time to love and a time to hate; a time for war and a time for peace."

Book of Ecclesiastes chapter 3

There is nothing eternal in the world. Empires are born and die. Now the Western Judeo-Christian civilization is dying, torn apart by internal problems and departed from its basic principles. It is replaced by something new. And Russia is at the forefront of this New. The task is to make this transition less painful for everyone.

Hey RT
Maybe slightly off topic here,But one difference I have percieved between Russians and the West is that in general,most of us in the west feel we are poorly governed,and the dominant feeling I have noticed for much of my life is that our government are a mixture of scoundrels and criminals-ask anyone in the UK and most will agree..

The Russians I have interacted with,both on the internet and on my travels,seemed to be more in agreement with their government and feel better governed than us in the west.

Does that match your experience?
And on a similar topic-do you feel Russians generally trust their MSM news channels to give you a balanced picture of reality?
Here,the general feeling is that our MSM are either state or corporate mouthpieces who wish the population to believe one story only-the one they make up for us.

Final question-In the UK we have "thought police" who will come and give you a talking to if you post nasty insults or "offensive" comments or even disagree with the lastest social justice cause...completely ridiculous and unBritish IMO,but it happens to some.
We can however say pretty much anything about our government(apart from threats of violence)and we do NOT get a visit from our beloved thought police.

Here I can say things like "income tax is criminal extorsion," or "Boris is a gay clown"or "my government are criminals" and no one will knock on my door.

In Russia,can you guys say such things about Putin or your government,without fear of a knock on the door,and maybe arrest?

Cheers

Hitler had same thoughts.

Putin sounds like megalomaniac

Putin; likening himself to Peter the Great and using Scripture to justify Russian expansionism.

People scoffed when we first said that Putin was motivated by a desire for personal greatness and a legacy akin to previous 'great' Russian leaders....seems we were right all along.

Hello! I will answer your questions as best I can. And with pleasure.

I already wrote on the forum that I am a journalist conducting anti-corruption investigations. But I am by no means an oppositionist. My goal is to help the authorities in Russia get rid of corruption and other vices. Of course, it does not always work, but in some cases it does. I follow one simple rule. Remember the apostle Paul - "There is no other authority but from God." So I try to help, to do something pleasing to God.

I believe Putin, I live in Russia and I see how he raised the country from complete poverty, from a vassal of the West to a prosperous independent country. I lived very poorly in the 90s, the complete opposite of how I, all my relatives and friends live now.

Yes, there are still many corrupt officials, scoundrels and enemies of my country surrounded by Putin. But Russia is a huge country, and Putin was able to keep the country from bloodshed and lead to almost complete national harmony. I hope that I help my country get rid of negative phenomena and people.

People in the West are absolute individualists.
People in the East are absolute collectivists.
The Russians are a separate civilization, it is impossible to determine the line and balance between individualism and collectivism among Russians. Everything depends on the development of society and the will of God.

Freedom of speech is also very high in Russia. And here you can say whatever you think about the president, of course, within the limits of the law and morality, as well as in relation to any other citizen. Only those who violate the current legislation are punished. Speak and write without breaking the Law, and no one will punish you for anything.
For example, there was such an employee of Channel One TV Ovsyannikova. During the broadcast, she jumped into the frame with a poster that violates the law. She was not arrested, not convicted, only fined the equivalent of $300.
She freely left for Germany, without paying a fine, and got a job there on the most Russophobic media. Now she is whining and asking to go home, as her husband and children condemned her.
What would happen to the CNN host if she did this in the US?
How many unarmed people are killed by police every year in the US? About 1000. In Russia, there are only a few, and each such case ends with a very thorough investigation.
Where is more freedom?

I answered your questions. If there is more - ask.)))

It is ridiculous to hear this from a representative of a country that at one time captured almost the entire world and exterminated tens and hundreds of millions of people.

So open up this sentence more, you seem to "know" what this NEW is. What do you mean Russia is a forefront this new ? Less painful ? How ?

When seeing those lines i wonder what coup is coming from east, From Russia and China ? Sounds very sinister.

To Russia and Putin.. you are not a saviour of any kind , never been and never will be as one.

The most paradoxical thing is that the more the West imposes sanctions against Russia, the better I live.)))
More sanctions please!!!

"They are waiting for a fair Russian trial and most likely the death penalty."

Fair? Yeah right. So you'll just skip the trial and move on to sentencing them to death.

Hitler had the same excuse when he invaded the USSR in 1941.

And now Putin is using it in Ukraine 2022.

Ukraine didn't want to be part of Russia and removed its Russian puppet President now like father like son force is deemed necessary.

You don't represent the Russian people and neither it seems does Putin.

Interesting choice of words "removed".

Many of us call the forced removal of a democratically elected president something different. You can't paint Ukraine as some innocent bystander forever.

A smart person would not chose a side in this conflict because both sides are equally corrupt. But the man in the box is telling these naive people that we must stand with Ukraine. Why? They have been committing crimes against humanity for years against Russian speaking Ukrainians.

History is important, it teaches us many things.

But not as important as the here and now; and Russian expansionism fuelled by Putin's dreams of personal greatness is happening now.
You can try to deflect as much as you want but it won't change a thing.

Ah yes. All Russia's underwhelming qualities are the fault of the west. Of course. Not their bloody monarchist heritage, not the even bloodier communist heritage, not the autocratic and corrupt "democracy" you have now. It couldn't be the unfailing penchant to consolidate power unquestionably within the overbearing as to seek more of it outside your borders, or from exploiting subsects within them. It's that damn Mickey Mouse and the queers keeping you guys down, from the other side of the planet.

This reeks of "I never got to sit at the cool kids table" spite. If Russia deserved better she would have it, kind of like the recent military quagmire you guys started with your paper tiger military gutted by corruption and choked by dust. All russia has is the nuke card, and if you think that's going to be the final word from the rest of the civilized world then you're more out of the loop than ever. You might have a lot less to lose, but you have a lot less to use as well.

If you hold the current course your country will fail again and be owned by communist China, because you do not take criticisms or understand the dexterity needed when dealing with the rest of the world. Everyone else generally manages to get along and profit, but not Russia anymore. Everyone else has many allies, but not Russia anymore. Do you think that indicates the rest of the world is an issue, or is it just an issue you have been brainwashed by the only thing you have left to cling to- hubris?

I have had many first generation Russian friends, they are all very noble Americans. They tend to exercise a fluency in sterile contemplation and warm friendship. It befounds me how Russia as a nation is not a mirror to this, perhaps because all the bear itself seems to understand is its own strength. A strength that the world can see is now waning.

Mercenaries are judged by the DPR and LPR courts.
Not Russia.
