So Democrats illegally made the committee and rejected the Republican members that were assigned. Pelosi opted to put Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, both Republics and vocal haters of Trump. When Pelosi did this she violated House rules on committees. When the committee issued Subpoenas again it was done in violation of House rules.

Steve Bannon was subpoenaed and refused to comply. He was charged with contempt of Congress. Turn about being fair play he issued subpoenas for Nancy Pelosi and several other Democrats to be deposed under oath. Contrary to what Pelosi wanted the judge sided with Bannon and ordered those subpoenaed to comply.

Pelosi is now trying to claim they dont have to complpy because they are protected by the Speech and Debate clause in the constitution. Yet at the same time she is going after Republicans, like Mitch McConnel and Kevin McCarthy, among others.

So apparently Pelosi only believes the speech and debate clause only applies to Democrats because she is insisting the Republicans must comply with the subpoenas issued to them to go in front of the committee.

Nope - Democrats in charge have been extremely "picky" on evidence and who can see it.

This hearing started at 8pm eastern time. A prime time hearing speaks volumes that Democrats are desperately trying to disqualify Trump from running for office again.
