TextUh huh. no this is because putin is a Self hating closeted gay and he dont want to be tempted by men. some of the biggest macho guys have been gay.
Also that bill does criminalize showing their gayness in public if you really think about it. Another hitler-esque thing puti poots is doing.

Ok, but the topic is Russia wanting to expand a law that already persecutes people in non-traditional relationships. If you know Russia sucks, why would you immediately come into the thread to support the law?
because its my right. and i support it. cope.
If you’re issuing fines for promoting consensual relationships, you might be an authoritarian. Don’t pretend your brand is somehow different.

You said it’s adopted this policy in the headline but go on to say it’s only been submitted. Huge difference. Authoritarianism on either side of the isle on this issue is wrong. Pretty ugly stuff.

Authoritarians are now only in Britain. There, the queen really rules ..... I forgot how many decades. And the upper house of the so-called parliament is generally hereditary.

this is not something that any teacher, anywhere, is (or could even if they wanted to) impart on students.
Your fear is so unwarranted & is often seen promulgated among certain less-than-informed right wing ‘groups’ that are often associated with scapegoating & usually an absurd ‘boogeyman’ du jour such as immigrants, racial minorities, religious minorities, & most recently Trans people.

Except it's more than that. When the law that's currently in place was passed, the first conviction came because someone was holding a sign that said "Freedom to the Gays and Lesbians of Russia. Down With Fascists and Homophobes."
Other notable instances of convictions include a newspaper that included the quote, "effective proof that homosexuality is normal," when they ran a story on a former teacher that had been targeted by Right-Wing extremists for his sexuality and a woman that runs an online support group for homosexual teens. Let's not also forget about when an iPhone shaped memorial to Steve Jobs was removed because Tim Cook said he was proud to be gay.
So yes, this new law would effectively criminalize being gay in public.
