It always gets me that Right Wingers try to claim Liberals are about control -- when its clearly the opposite.

While republicans clearly want control as well, modern liberals very much are about control, just look at anything regarding "green energy" they dont care this administration is killing the little people as long as the end result is we are forced to follow what they want in regard to green energy. that is my off the cuff example about why modern liberals are more about authority than conservatives.

ETA: On topic, Mr. Prager is usually fairly steady on his beliefs and I have heard him interview folks on the other end of the spectrum and he kept it very cordial which was a nice change. I have no issue with those 6 steps.

Thanks. To be clear I am neither Left or Right politically. I don't really discuss my own political position on ATS. I would say I am a Logical, Progressive (as in the description of the word, not the political party), and non-religious. My profile lists my location as: Standing on the Moon. That represents standing back and observing the whole (not just my own "porch").

The Right touts Traditional/Traditional Values -- they don't seem to grasp how controlling that is. I am 75 -- I lived when gender roll division was prominent. I've "watched" a lot of barriers fall for equal rights. Does it get messy? Yes - control is easier. You'll have to explain to me how Liberals are about control.

In public school -- no child should be allowed to disrupt students who want to learn -- or to be disrespectful to teachers. Those students should be removed. However, humanity, social issues, etc -- are part of everyday life and just as important as academics.

Eliminate the union and you can solve many of the problems. There are too many bad teachers still teaching or getting paid for not teaching that should be digging ditches as a career instead.

Mini me been driving me crazy, just wanted to touch base with an example of liberals showing a level of control that conservatives typically do not.

Since I was labeled an adult, I cant remember (not saying it hasent happened just I cant remember) a time where conservatives shut down a liberal speaker, saw apparently liberty college had bernie sanders come speak, versus say ron desantis being prevented from speaking in NY, or ben shapiro being prevented from speaking at colleges.

Not great example but shows at least to some degree that some on the left seems to be more against differing view points than many on the right.

I was Republican for 40+ years.

I am not particularly liberal -- except when it comes to equality and women's rights.

Republicans tend to be narcissistic and self-righteous -- they really need to look in a mirror more often.

I go to both the Republican and Democrat meetings in my city. I can honestly tell you I much prefer hanging out with the Democrats -- the Republicans are way too uptight.

This guy's approach to fixing schools is classic Republican control.

As to answer your question -- just Google it. However, Republicans will use word manipulation to label it something other than shutting down a speaker.

I'm betting there are a lot of newly registered Independents and unaffiliates these days because both Left and Right are falling off the edge of logic and reason.

As far as public school (trying to stay on topic).

No child who wants to learn should have to put up with disrespect and disruptions. But they should be able to discuss social and personal issues.

Each city should have a school on a secure base (police, National Guard, etc). Students who are consistently disruptive and disrespectful should be transferred to the secure base school. That school can be run like the military.

What about also not hiring 'educators' with an 'education' degree; instead hire specialists with degrees in their fields, like a biologist, a sports medicine doctor , a mathematician, a physicist, a historian etc.

Many of them already have a Masters in their particular area of educating. That isn't the problem, the problem is the slugs you can't manage out for poor performance.

Not enough. School vouchers instead. Let parents decide which school to send their children, including of course religious schools. Most would choose the religious schools which aren't taken over by woke politics.
