FLORIDA - 10 Year Old Arrested for 'Fake Threat' to Shoot Up School

Instead of looking at the person charged, look at the crime. Many people's rights have been violated for less. Just because he's a minor doesn't mean he can't commit evil and break the law. Many horrendous crimes have been committed by juveniles. In fact, most school shootings are committed by juveniles.

Most sites blur the face as I saw when I first read of this incident. But the Daily Mail is headquartered in another country so I don't know what the laws are there.

Early prevention is the key. If this kid was 'kidding around' this arrest will surely get his attention. If he isn't, well maybe he'll think twice before actually acting out his fantasy.

lots of people are charged with ADULT CRIMES , FELONY CRIMES and (if an adult) minor crimes..
their pictures can and ARE (depending on the crime and sadly if it fits an agenda like race) published when "accused".

this "child" is accused of AN ADULT FELONY CRIME.
so in most states (not sure if all) his name and pic can be published.

but what is getting my goat here is this attempt at deflection by saying it was a "fake threat"

the only way to know if its a "fake" or "real" threat is IF IT WAS ACTUALLY CARRIED OUT.

Yes i know some threats are clearly "fake"/not real

but a threat to do a school attack CANNOT BE TAKEN as a "fake" by any means

unless anyone SUPPORTING THIS CLAIM is willing to put THEIR OWN FAMILY MEMBERS AND CHILDREN in harms way to see if its "fake" or not.

along with its time to teach these "selfie needing attention social media " types that you cant just say anything and not expect consequences for CLEARLY ILLEGAL crap like this

in my day had i even done what this kid is accused of doing the police WOULD BE THE LEAST OF MY WORRIES.
my dad would drag me to the police station himself and if any of it were true it would not be if i would show up for court. but if it were under my own power .

I’d do the same AND suggest the officers keep me in a cell over night to cool down.
Because if I got a hold of one of my kids after pulling a stunt like that… put it this way, my kid would have to go to a psychiatrist to figure out later in life why their arse feels like it’s on fire anytime they even see a wooden spoon.

Both cheeks would look like big fat ripe tomatoes.

Well, it is the police who used the words FAKE THREAT. Whatever that means.

I guarantee his attorneys will use the First Amendment as his defense. Especially when LE is calling it FAKE.
With that said, I have not looked for updates to see if this has changed at all.

I find the charge of "fake threat" odd. Is it a threat or not? What is a fake threat?

Uh, excuse me. But this is precisely what is needed today. Quick and efficient intervention on the mentally ill. Oh, and you will doubtless say, where's the evidence of mental illness. Prove it otherwise. A kid who threatens to shoot up his school just ain't normal. He should be locked up for a minimum of 6 months for a psych evaluation and the home should be gone through to find all relevant evidence and the parents need to be evaluated as well.

That's how you stop future school shootings and don't be surprised if this becomes so common place it no longer makes the MSN. The breadtch and depth and massive scope of mental health issues in this society is simply staggering.

i dont know why they used "fake threat" unless because it was not carried out?

but in either case a lawyer would be (or should be) LAUGHED OUT OF COURT for claiming you can make a THREAT (be fake, real, whatever term helps you sleep at night) is a "first amendment right".

so i guess all those arrested and kicked out of airports have a "first amendment right" to make bomb jokes?

funny cant find any court cases claiming that.

but in either case to make this claim is IMO sick and by far one of the most stupidest things to justify what this nitwit did.

so to be clear, we have to wait until one of these douchwaffles shows up at a school with a weapon trying to get in to hold them accountable?

i find it rather strange that a 10 year old is arrested and then his picture and name are published. at 10 you are a child and don't really know who you are yet. maybe he wanted a day off from school or whatever made him do it, and if he really has a psychological problem he should be taken to a psychologist and not to the police station.
