Your reply instils a very, very dangerous president. Please read the new post "Ukraine lease lend act". Which ever NATO country is doing this, take USA with this lease lend. USA is part of NATO so are they saying to Putin "we are lending this as USA not a NATO country" and I'll tell you now NO THEY HAVE NOT.
So according to Putin NATO IS aiding and abetting Ukraine. And like I put in the other thread ,the more "foreign volunteer fighters" especially from any NATO countries will reinforce that notion in Putins mind. Just because there are not mass boots on the ground will not ease Putins mind that NATO is not involved.

Then why didn't they allow Russia to join?

NATO will not kick Russia's ass, which is why they possess nuclear weapons. It would take NATO months to mobilize for a total war. They would have to transfer troops and heavy equipment between ships and planes in order to reach Europe, and that would take months. However, if NATO began to make progress against the Russian army. Russia may escalate the conflict. In the past, many world powers believed they could destroy Russia completely, only to find that they lost their army (the French and German examples). In fact, Russia declared war on Ukraine, meaning that they could mobilize their entire country into combat. Currently, there is no strong movement in the west to recruit millions of soldiers. Too many people live in comfort in the west.
As the United States knows, Russia also knows that their cities will be ruined and there will be nothing left if they go in. People tend to forget what nuclear weapons mean and just one bomb could very well destroy a 20km-wide area

Because NATO's goal isn't to have Russia in it. Its to blockading Russia.
