I must thank Russia for saying 'NO' to NATO. 'You won't come to us'

NATO does not have a military, let alone military equipment to send to Ukraine. Something that people dont seem to know nor understand. Each country that belongs to NATO are sovereign and can take actions independent of NATO. For example Hungary, a NATO member, will not allow any aid destined for Ukraine to transit its territory to Ukraine.

Just like if a NATO member invokes article V (attack on one is an attack on all). Any NATO member can vote no, ending any and all NATO involvement. However a NATO member can abstain from voting on article V. If all NATO members vote yes for NATO involvement and a lone NATO nation abstains, then the article V is passed without the help of said nation.

Because NATO does a lot of interoperability training, it is only natural for countries who are members of NATO who get involved in a conflict to use a NATO style command setup (like Libya which was NOT a NATO sanctioned operation). The US, UK and France, who have aircraft carriers, cross certify pilots to be able to land on each others carriers. NATO and allied countries (who do not have carriers) also cross train with their navies so their navy can be used as an escort for a carrier task force. For example the Canadian navy is able to integrate into a US carrier task force flawlessly.

As for NATO offering intelligence it is compatible with the NATO charter. The purpose of NATO is to deter threats focused at any NATO member nation. Any nation (non Nato) which would adversely affect a NATO member's security if said nation is invaded and occupied, is a direct threat to NATO security (Hence article IV - see Turkey shooting down a Russian military aircraft that violated Turkeys airspace).

as for this comment -

AND no matter how bad or evil you think your enemy is if you want peace you WILL have to sit and talk (not threaten) and come to an agreement.

I completely agree with... Constantly threatening the use of nuclear weapons only increases tensions. Do I think Putin will use nukes? No, but he does have a history of threatening to use nukes to get his way.

Not once has the US, the UK or France have threatened Russia or China with a nuclear strike because they were arming countries who were engaged in hostilities with the west, killing US/UK/French soldiers.

Your reply instils a very, very dangerous president. Please read the new post "Ukraine lease lend act". Which ever NATO country is doing this, take USA with this lease lend. USA is part of NATO so are they saying to Putin "we are lending this as USA not a NATO country" and I'll tell you now NO THEY HAVE NOT.
So according to Putin NATO IS aiding and abetting Ukraine. And like I put in the other thread ,the more "foreign volunteer fighters" especially from any NATO countries will reinforce that notion in Putins mind. Just because there are not mass boots on the ground will not ease Putins mind that NATO is not involved.

Putin can think what he wants,it still does not make it true. Unless NATO specifically says its a NATO action it is not a action under their purview. NATO has no army itself.

This is the problem with lot of high-paying jobs, where the people of power, have set their relatives up in good positions and have a gravy factory running nicely all essentially on the public purse. If anyone tries to wind it in, suddenly there is an emergency to justify their existence.

Then why didn't they allow Russia to join?

Because NATO's goal isn't to have Russia in it. Its to blockading Russia.

You do know the MSM stories/links get posted on those sites right?

So instead of sitting in front of a TV and watching endless speculations from bobbleheads I click on the links read through and decide if it makes sense.

How many speculations about mass graves in Mariupol have you heard or read? I read one article and that was enough to know that another piece of propaganda was being pushed.

NATO will not kick Russia's ass, which is why they possess nuclear weapons. It would take NATO months to mobilize for a total war. They would have to transfer troops and heavy equipment between ships and planes in order to reach Europe, and that would take months. However, if NATO began to make progress against the Russian army. Russia may escalate the conflict. In the past, many world powers believed they could destroy Russia completely, only to find that they lost their army (the French and German examples). In fact, Russia declared war on Ukraine, meaning that they could mobilize their entire country into combat. Currently, there is no strong movement in the west to recruit millions of soldiers. Too many people live in comfort in the west.

As the United States knows, Russia also knows that their cities will be ruined and there will be nothing left if they go in. People tend to forget what nuclear weapons mean and just one bomb could very well destroy a 20km-wide area

to the 🐔 hawks.

🙏

The ships WILL sink in their way to combat!.. the navy realizes Russian subs are lurking. Has the Navy ⚓🚢 ships been hardened against their systems being disabled? Do they really know the real cause?

Has there ever been a resolution to pilot asphyxiation?

Wasn't it so smart to buy electronics equipment from potential adversaries?

the superior mental 🎓 levels there!

NEVER BUY COMMS EQUIPMENT FROM AN ENEMY.

more bs.. Russia was invited to apply to join NATO. Russia wanted special treatment no other NATO country had so when nato said no, Russia took their marbles and went home. Also that fact by Putin totally undermines his propaganda about NATO saying they would never expand East.

The US already has like 120k troops in Europe. Poland is doubling the size of their army, pushing it over 300k +. Germany is finally rearming and fixing their deficiencies.

To paraphase the first Head of NATO Lord Ismay it was threefold, first to keep the USA in Europe, secondly to keep the Russians out and lastly to keep the Germans down.
