The former conscript said that after "mobilization" they were given to "drug addicts" - the Right Sector. Superiors treated them like dogs. They were not allowed to go to a store and were constantly held at gunpoint. They immediately warned that those who wanted to leave would be killed on the spot.

He says " it's better to be in captivity in Russia than be in this Ukraine."

When asked about being exchanged he says " I don't want to be exchanged. Is there an option so I will not be exchanged?"

I get it. From all the first-hand accounts from the Mariupol civilians, the Nationalists thought of Russian speakers as less than human. Calling them meat (meat shield.) If he hadn't surrendered he would have been cannon fodder at best and shot by the Nationalists even if they did win in the end.

Thanks for sharing 👍. Yep, it's true that everyone involved with this Russian invasion, feels differently about it, no doubt. One thing is for certain, the more damning accusations he makes against the ukrainians, the better his captivity will go. Now if he starts promoting the savior of Ukraine - Putin the tard, he might have it pretty darn decent.

That didn't take long...points for at least putting a thin veil over your insinuation that he was coerced...

Each side accusing the other side of the same thing. Sounds like our American politicians! I'll wait for all the books to come out in the next ten years, then the updated versions in 50 years before deciding who's using the most propaganda, hoping a little more truth comes out.

right.. "better to be a prisoner in russia" and "dont want to go back"

hmmm where have we heard this before in recent history

oh thats right

korea war

vietnam

with a really great case of a press event where the american in morse code blinked "torture"..

while im not saying both sides have some prisoner abuse..

REALITY in all wars since WWII russia and "humane treatment" are as far apart as one can be ..

hell their own citizens though the KGB and gulag system have more torture and horrendous treatment of THEIR OWN PEOPLE

you think a country that dares to break away from them and fight is gonna "be nice" to them?

common man put down the pipe , get some fresh air and deal in reality....

With all the goings on in Russia; sheltering in place may be the right decision for many.

My soul hurts for the many children who are suffering and afraid; confused and worried; they know what is happening and they are so scared.

I wonder does it bother Putin that the children are afraid of him? After all they are Russia's future.

Remember the 13 Ukrainian soldiers that some thought they were killed by the Russian warship? on snake island? they weren't killed they surrendered.

According to what i had seen on twitter they treated fairly by the Russians and than returned.

Good 👍. I see an article from RT news saying that if we go into WWIII, well we all going to die anyway. Madness. I don't believe ALL the Russian viewers are in a hurry for WWIII, but I don't know, they're not allowed to speak freely or protest the war in Russia. Very thankful I am an American 👍

It's amazing the pushback from the same actors. Can you not see when they've fallen hook, line and sinker for their 'own country's propaganda ... here ... at ATS?

The Ukrainians are nobody's angels. They are vicious and bloodthirsty. When their turn before Justice comes ... I hope they are treated the same way.

I think this man feels the same as Edward Snowden did. Better to live in Russia than under the tyranny and sadism of the NATO mindset.

I expect this stuff from them. Most are too cowardly to watch the videos with civilians telling what they experienced. They find all kinds of reasons not to watch. Some spend more time making excuses than it would take to watch a couple of them.

The simple truth is they are afraid they may see or hear something that they can't simply dismiss and their confidence in the narratives they have invested themselves in will start to crumble.

I said months ago that this is going to be another WMD moment. Sooner or later an interview or footage will go viral piercing their information bubbles. They will be looking back blaming the media and government for withholding information and feeding them lies. They will forget all about the people who warned them or tried to show them. Societal memories are that of goldfish. They will say never again, again.

You mean like how only some protest groups are allowed to protests well if you are protesting covid measures like vaccination passports or covid measures your own democratic government would not only block your bank access to your financial needs.

But the government would treat you like a criminal in your own country.

Unless you are for Approved Protests than you would have no issues.

I don't believe ALL the Russian viewers are in a hurry for WWIII,

And i am sure many Russian viewers haven't forgotten when the Americans had regime changed their country and put millions of Russians on unemployed because of the puppet Boris Yeltsin.

You completely ignored what i mentioned about snake island and you went off topic with Russia Today. dont worry you still have CNN, MSNBC still cheering for World War III countless.

By the way there is a reason why Edward Snowden fled to Russia Remember Edward Snowden?

If America and other western countries that we live under were all for freedom and democracy why has Edward Snowden fled to Russia?

Remember the NSA allegations?

After all they are Russia's future.
Whose future? Russia's future? or a Europe where the EU/US is controlling Europe? while demanding the Russians to change their culture and customs?

How about conscripts in general in Russia. It is seen as slave labor, or worst, and anyone with money bribes their way out. So it is just the poor that are forced in, and also now in Ukraine dying.

Do you have issues with Ukraine killing every soldier that invades their country?
