"Genesis 3:22
And the Lord God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever."

Can you imagine the lack of spiritual and intellectual progress and unimagined and imagined evil that would reign among humankind if we were all allowed to live forever?

Interesting you brought this up because I was pondering the other day in relation to the Egg Theory I mentioned, if we were all one conscious, a God, that would live forever, no wonder we see life through the lens of life and death. It would be an absolute MISERY to be damned with immortality...

Did God know that we would create a metaverse and emulate our brains into a metaworld, where-as we can "live forever" in a digital space...What would really separate a digital "world" from this "material" world? Once immersed into the matrix, you become part of the matrix and it becomes life as usual...Some profound questions to think about and the implications thereof. Nevermind, Blackmirror already did an episode about this

The only thing I have ever heard from what gets called the "elohim" is "We are We" an angel is basically the same thing as a dhamma protector; or basically a demon subjugated humbled and promises to do good(protect the religion or word) having been given and shown mercy despite their evil ways.

To break down the actual word "Elohim", "El" is the word used for God. The word "El" was used generically to dignify any God in any capacity, predating Abrahamic religions actually (and thus being picked up by Abrahamic religions). Moloch was called "El", because he was a "God" to the Hebrews.

I appreciate everyone giving me their current interpretation of what the bible means to them, but no one has yet to acknowledge the point I made that at the founding of Judaism and eventually Christian dogma in its alleged monotheistic start, we have the following facts:

1. The Hebrews, who were given the Commandments, worshipped many Gods before and after heading to the promised land. Moses was even mad at them for worshiping a Golden Calf after leading them to the promised land in which he "broke the law" by smashing the stone commandments.

2. It was Moses who wrote Genesis. And it was Moses that proclaimed "THIS" God, is "OUR" God at a time where common belief was there were many Gods.

3. Moses brother, Aaryon was a former priests of Pagan Canaanite Gods called Sin.

4. Elohim is a pluralization of the word God, Eloah is the singular. "IM" -im indicates a masculine plural. If Elohim was to be governed by the singular use of the word "God", it would be translated as Eloah.

I guess this conversation ended here pretty fast since I haven't given the theologians a chance to elaborate on irrelevant neo-christian thought thus it seems commenters don't have much to say past that point...

Context matters. "Our" context is todays thought, but again, I'm asking in what context were the Abrahamic religions founded in?

Wouldn't that thus make it a Henotheistic religion that BECAME monotheistic in the course of 2000+ years...People will normally disagree with a notion that goes against their understanding because they base their existence and life around what they know to be true, whether right or wrong.

ETA: In either sense, appreciate you all for the conversation and the abundance of material to read from. I'm not saying any of your dogmas or canon are wrong persay, just questioning its origin.

I know I'm beating a dead horse, but to reaffirm the obvious fact that the abrahamic religions are henotheistic and not monotheistic, the Islamic deity Allah, comes from a ancient canaanite God, worshipped at the time of Moses as well, called Allah, and was the God of the moon.

Hence why the symbol of Islam and Allah is a crescent moon.

God Allah (pre-Islamic Arabia) - Moon Deity/God
God Sin (Canaanite) - Moon Deity/God
