Perseverance used its high-resolution Mastcam-Z camera to record this video of a solar eclipse on Mars ,Percy sent the video home so we could see what it had seen and perhaps enjoy the spectacle.
Although the Sun wasn't actually eclipsed by Phobos due to the fact Phobos isn't that big it does transit across the face of the Sun giving us a fine silhouette of the Moon during its Eclipse attempt.

NASA’s Perseverance Mars rover used its Mastcam-Z camera system to shoot video of Phobos, one of Mars’ two moons, eclipsing the Sun. It’s the most zoomed-in, highest frame-rate observation of a Phobos solar eclipse ever taken from the Martian surface.

Nice! That went by quick. I knew the moon moved quickly. Thanks for sharing this.

Its a rather odd, uneven shape isn't it.

The video isn't in real time is it?

Good question , Just checked the NASA site and it seems it is.

Captured with Perseverance’s next-generation Mastcam-Z camera on April 2, the 397th Martian day, or sol, of the mission, the eclipse lasted a little over 40 seconds – much shorter than a typical solar eclipse involving Earth’s Moon. (Phobos is about 157 times smaller than Earth’s Moon. Mars’ other moon, Deimos, is even smaller.)

I think they forgot to mention that the Sun appears much smaller on Mars.

PS: nice video!
