SB 793 : California Saves The Children

For the times a bill in my state directly effects me and I care enough to complain about it.

They even floated enforcing it pre-referendum.

What: A California bill banning all flavored tobacco products, including menthol and vapes.

Why: The children. Gotta save them.

Who: Michael R. Bloomberg, Kaiser Foundation, and The Committee to Protect California Kids.

I smoked Camel Filters for 20 years. From 16 to 36. At which point i decided I didnt want to die and switched to vapes. And this was great because vapes cost 1/3 the daily price a pack of cigarettes does. A price that currently stands at 12.40 a pack.

And the place I buy my vapes is awesome. All Iraqi christians "Chaldeans" that sell market items, tobacco, and energy drinks. The west coast version of a bodega without a permit to sell beer.  As it turns out they make about 40% of their money off flavored tobacco and vapes.

The Chaldean, Kurdish, Armenian, Persian, and Turkish immigrant community all seem to have something in common in California. They are almost all small business owners. And much of that is in markets, liquor stores, and gas stations.

And they all stand to lose. And because I like blueberry/raspberry nicotine I stand to lose.

Moreover, I dont like a committee for the children telling me i can only smoke expensive tobacco that kills me or puff tasteless vapes that dont appeal to children.  Thats like being forced to quit by consensus.

Finally, I hope RJ Reynolds exploits the race card and points out that including both flavored "blunt wraps" and "menthol" (despite menthol not being a flavor) is an attack on the black community more than a benefit.

Still despite the many past and future failings we came together and shot down the pretext to unionization and mandated employee status for app-based companies like Uber 65-35, so I have hope they'll let the children vape.

Im just glad its just a sale ban and not a possession ban. Duty free is still an option. But that's a pain because there is a limit and you have to walk it into Mexico first. I just cant let them win on that one.

And if it is banned that is going to be the most hilarious black market ever.

Perhaps instead of covid tyranny and screwing with smokers your legislation should dole out cash for an even more ridiculous bill to give the homeless diapers so they quit #ing on the sidewalks and rather have neatly wrapped depends for men balls with a Biden face on them that say “I did that”

Although the government doesn't wan to to win this one completely either .
Regulation = Revenue= Taxes = Stealing from the citizens to put in their own back pockets .

It is quite bizarre how vapes were first seen as a safer alternative to tobacco and are now treated like nuclear waste!

I propose we ban all alcohol use.......children might be watching!!!!
