wouldn't be surprised about the fake videos. i thought the exact same thing when i saw it, especially when you see a man hit the seal going away from it and then coming back to "finish" it. too much planned as in a set up movie.
anyway, it could be true. just hope not, else i would have no more faith in these org that pretend to protect animals

I think I'd rather the drilling for fossil fuels, or if they really prefer killing the seals, at least find some sort of painless way to do it.
That video was terrible...

That raises an interesting point. Drilling for fossil fuels is much more dangerous to the planet, much more enviromentally unfriendly. Seal Hunting is a 'warm, fuzzy' issue that every one can get behind.

McDonald's throws away over 10 millions pounds of hamburger meat every day, ccording to one report I heard. They are forbidden by the health code to keep meat over night. What isn't used goes out in the trash, to be replaced with fresh in the morning. As a ersult McDonald's supplier's slaught whole heards that never get around to becoming hamburger. They 'are' spares' to meet a quota.

Gary Larson Farside fans may well imagine that an especially noble cow might law down her life in the form of hamburger, so that a 'superior' life form can benefit. Imagine, though, that you are the 'spare cow' harvested to meet a fast food quota. Cows aren't particularly attractive animals. Few of us have haad cows as pets, so they don't get the same level of public sympathy. Hey, I got an idea. Let's stop in for Big Mac's after the Greenpeace meeting!

So is this serious? Are we concerned about real issues? Enviromentalism is one of the great causes of our day. CNN recently braodcast the report that man is methodically destroying the systems of life on the planet. So if you are really concerned, there are things you can do. Take the bus instead of the car, or even sell your car ( Hey, wait a mintue! No one loves this GD planet that much!). Cut down on your consumption of consumer products.

That is if this serious issue is more then feeling the 'fuzzy cuddles'. remember your SCi Fi. Just because something is warm and cuddly doesn't make it automatically 'good'!

Very, very well said and I agree.

I have a truck that costs $60 to fill up and it has terrible gas mileage. I live in the country and there are no busses plus I love the freedom. I certaintly don't need the extra cargo space or the power.

If any one wants to donate a small reliable 2 door coupe to me I will gladly except but until then I will continue to use what my dad provided for a very generous gift of which I had no say and gladly excepted.
