Along much of the Mexican border there are dual checkpoints, I believe in certain areas there's as much as a 70mile gap between the actual border and a second checkpoint (that is, you're actually in the US, but not exactly)... So, if I can legally shoot someone who enters my home illegally (e.g. not welcome, invited) I can shoot them (a guy illegally breaks my window and starts wandering around inside my house in the middle of the night) What is the problem with having motion-detecting gun turrets around our borders/secondary borders to the north and south that dispatch people trying to illegally entering our "home"? They know what they are doing is wrong. If people don't go through a checkpoint (similar to knocking on my front door) what's the problem? A big wall alone between Mexico and/or Canada seems like a good but weak substiture.

South border, why not. North border... it would be to keep people IN the US, I assure you. Besides, Canada really doesn't like us and they arent exactly swimming across Lake Michigan to get here.

> but motion detected turrets would probably be bad.. armed guard towers would be better.
humans good
