Oscar-winning actor Will Smith slapping comedian Chris Rock made the biggest headlines out of the Oscars Sunday night. But the sponsorship from Pfizer and COVID shot partner BioNTech was for the pharma marketing world a bigger moment.
Etrasimod is an oral, once-a-day, selective sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) receptor modulator designed for optimized pharmacology and engagement of S1P receptors 1, 4, and 5. It is being investigated for a range of immuno-inflammatory diseases including ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s Disease, atopic dermatitis, eosinophilic esophagitis, and alopecia areata.
The Bad Boys actor opened up about the abuse and his childhood memories of his dad, William Carroll Smith Sr, in his memoirs called Will and admitted one incident growing up in Philadelphia scarred him for life.
"When I was nine years old, I watched my father punch my mother in the side of the head so hard that she collapsed. I saw her spit blood. That moment in that bedroom, probably more than any other moment in my life, has defined who I am."
Will admits that in every acceptance speech he has since completed, he tries to include a subtle string of apologies to his mum for failing to stand up to his dad and for "being a coward".
And there you have it. I give you motive. No "it looked staged", "they're actors, it was staged", try this one, they got paid millions to embarrass themselves on the world stage to market a new Pfizer drug. I rest my case.

So you think Will Smith did it for money?
I was under the impression that money was not an issue for him.
I thought he already had more than enough.
I am not convinced.
Either way, this story is more of an eye roller than the War in Yemen.
