Will did not win.

That was a big ol’ man slap.
If he won, Rock would not be standing with a dumb look.

I do think Rock missed out on some of the greatest comedic comeback of all time.

Rock should have said “ I guess I’m the only one he want’s to keep out of his wife’s mouth!”

Most people aren’t watching anymore. Maybe it was staged, but half staged. Maybe only one party knew.

I think Will Smith has some emotional issues he needs to deal with. I think Chris should have at the very least slapped back, but he was a bigger person and didn’t retaliate. Can’t say I would have done the same. Actually I know I wouldn’t have been able. I have the Fight gene. I was also raised that I never strike first, but I better strike back if I’m hit…

Now, THAT, would have been a mic drop and a curtain drop at the same time. Smith who was already in ''macho man'' mode would not have been able to stop himself from running back on stage and the whole show would have turned into a brawl.

Meshing with my earlier comment in this thread, I have now come across this statement by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

“By hitting Rock, he announced that his wife was incapable of defending herself — against words,” he states. “This patronizing, paternal attitude infantilizes women and reduces them to helpless damsels needing a Big Strong Man to defend their honor least they swoon from the vapors.
