What caused the multi-day outage?

Glad to see ATS back. Is there an official explanation for the outage?

On Reddit there was something about a hosting billing issue?

Other said it was too much Russian propaganda
and other said it was due far right posters...
One believed site was hacked.

Maybe we will know someday soon.

It was a credit card issue at the host.

The russian owner had his Visa blocked by the sanctions and had to use back channels to pay American meth addicts and call girls in commodities like pelts, gold chains and the crystal stuff to make bank deposits in the states. Most of them didn't actually go through with it and spent it all on drugs, so it took quite a while.

That's a great explanation. I'll go with that over a billing problem with a credit card.

Well, the 'new' posts only go back a few posts and the site seems way snappier than before, and looking at page source, there's a bit less 'crap'.

Are you sure it is back?

Perhaps it is a totally new site, restored or linked from the previous, perhaps under new control?

On Discord we were telling all the new arrivals that they were banned by DToM.

The best part is they found it plausible and believed us. Mostly because Heff was telling them too. LOL.

For future reference, clicking on "edit" and deleting the content has the same effect. I've had to do that once or twice, for not reading the post I was replying to.
