Counting the number of is a fool's errand consider Christ saying do not suffer a witch to live... as they are often doomed or damned or sent as a penance to "count" things. Vipassana is a position of wisdom it is best taken as a view with no views or equanimity... the other part of that is shamatha or calmness when any you encounter do not have equanimity or a view without views... otherwise termed as the yin and yang, the great balance, hen in the midst or sho, nirvana/samsara, heaven and hell.

It is not heavenly to go around counting the innumerable it as said is a task that basically says do not pass go directly to hell... to some however it may be a heavenly task and those are exactly the such persons who have a heart of gold for it; however those that do not have a heart for it expecting them to go count such a thing as said is a fool's errand and an evil thing to expect everyone to do.
