so here they are

it is a platinum based salt

its kind of hard to explain why this is so cool but there are a ton of medical uses for this for targeted changed treatments to even nuclear fuel processing without expensive catalysts and a ton of fluorine and hydrogen

no much to look at and quite small

This isn’t the same salt stuff that guy in Florida smoked right before he turned all zombie like and ate that dudes face off under a bridge is it?

The linked article does not specify its possible uses, also mentions that it breaks down on contact with oxygen.

I wonder how they discovered how to make it. But if it can only exist in a stable form in outer space, what can they use it for here on earth.

They first found it in a cesium sample, that's how it was discovered. Probably they looked at all the materials surrounding the sample or looked at the processes involved.

Maybe they had stored or processed the cesium sample with something that still had platin dust lingering. Chemical class was never my favorite one but hydrogen is involved in the process and oxygen will undo the reaction. Sure someone more into chemical stuff can point out to us what happens during the reactions.

Lots of chemical processes are affected by presence of oxygen, having to use other inert gases isn't really an issue.

Apparently its a Caesium platinide hydride which can exist only in an inert environment.

So similar to conditions that exist in outer space but not necessarily from outer space or can only be produced there.

For a start it can obviously be produced under Earths gravity as opposed to the micro gravity of space.
