I still find it amazing that they are keeping these old birds in the sky at all, 50's-60's tech operating in 2022....the cost alone should be a dead end

We had one over Michigan a couple of weeks ago something about lake ice and temp monitoring. It was in the middle of the week.

The only 50-60s tech in them is the original design. The U-2S shares the same name as the original, but it’s a completely different aircraft.
