I think its a fight to cancel Putin himself, not Russia (or at least that's the DESIRED subtext from the info that is being measured by statistics)...if Im being overly semantical, my apologies..It seems like the underlyers from the US are "Get rid of Putin and everything goes back to normal"..maybe even better than before (even if it is a puppet government).. Putins 'War Of Choice' being the rhetoric. I think the world wants Russians to know that We love them and want everything to be cool, just get rid of the moron.

The conspiracy is that Putin came to power by way of a series of bombings, in an apartment building and a car bomb. He was a Deputy Prime minister at that time . 1999 apartment bombings eventually blamed on Chechens triggering an invasion….sound familiar?

Ii don't know..maybe Putin is just the kind of guy Russians want and they should be 'cancelled' as a legitimate partner of any kind.

We really don't have much accurate Russian Peoples perspective..some protests, and the response to those protests. Seems a lot of people in Russia, vast country and old. Probably be pretty difficult to 'cancel' without subjugating them.

And I don't think the average Russian would care anyway..I wouldn't…
Most of the establishment could care less..Who they actually are is what's important to them..and cancelling them would make them more Russian in their minds..I don't ever see the Russians trying to integrate much..I know their society is old and their culture and heritage is deep. There is power in that. A type of power that prevents some 'splash in the pan' powder puff 'word' from hurtling them into a suicidal rage.

But every little bit helps..Cancel away, barrel chested freedom fighters of the digital age…could be like a splinter.

Really, how can You cancel something that's not even there? As was mentioned, they are isolated, not just by their government, but by the mental state that type of isolation creates, kind of like prisoners, like the rest of us in a way.

In the states Our soldiers went to battle and sent us home pictures of celebration over dead enemy being desecrated.(the taliban golden shower)
IMO the taliban weren't with the effort it took to preform the desecratory act. But hey that's war…My Dad told a story one time about an old Vietnamese lady, an American soldier. and a Water Buffalo horn…Someday I want to make a hunting knife with Water Buffalo handle, in honor of that lady.

The humanitarian images that came back from the Desert outweighed the BS even though the media didn't pay near as much attention to school building, hospitals, and overall good that was accomplished in the midst of the chaos as they did to the terrible behavior of a few.

The Russian soldiers are sending home messages of terror and confusion..could get something brewing. Russian POWs are telling outlandish stories.

Because people in Russia can't get an accurate perspective due to the internal censorship. People are burying their relatives who dies in the invasion and don't even know why they died or what for.

After years of dealing with tacit or state-sponsored Russian hacking it's kind of comical to see Putin on the other end of this.

Oh, well, sucks to be him.

Fully sucks. But, he kind of had it coming.

All true.

Cancelling is effective. Unfortunately. It can be used on anyone, anywhere, for any reason. It's been weaponized against Conservatives and anyone that supports Conservatives in the US for awhile now.

I agree and that’s part of my point - the concept of “Cancelling” should probably be relabeled “Undesirable to the stated objective we are looking to accomplish”.

Can’t build a one-world-government with bullets.

Good thread.

What many fail to understand is....by cutting Russia off from the rest of the world, this will push Putin to become even more radical by using small suitcase nuke devices around the world. Taking out large cities....or using biological/chemical bombs.

The world is pushing Putin into WW III.

Thanks, DS.

My only response is… we’re already in WW3. It just looks different.
