Interesting to say the least for me. Basically in the middle of the rain depression. Been raining for a week. Barely got home this evening and
staying put for the duration. Seen and been in a lot of floods. This is the biggest I've seen in this part of the country. Thankfully the rain is
easing off tonight. Roof has stopped leaking.
Surrounds nearby are just covered in water. Luckily we are up high. No so for others. Been a few deaths and reports of those unaccounted for. 2 of
my children live in Grafton, Clarence River. New South Wales. We were in there today. It appears the river may breach the levee at midnight when
high tide hits. About 2.5 hours from now.
A lot of country towns have been hit hard. We'll stay put tonight and scope the area tomorrow.
I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror –
The wide brown land for me!
