What Ukraine needs is a bunch of 50 BMG sniper rifles with slap rounds.

Russian light armor BMPs and fuel trucks make easy to hit targets at 1000 yards.

Keeping tank commanders buttoned up in the tanks also makes tanks harder to use.

50 bmg high-explosive incendiary armor-piercing (HEIAP), Mk 211 Mod 0 can cause a lot of havoc with just about any target but tanks.

The Ukrainians were, depending I suppose upon your viewpoint, fully capable of resisting invaders. WWII, as an example, once they realized that the Nazi's were, most assuredly, not liberators (one of Hitler's bigger mistakes in retrospect), the resistance was, in a word, formidable. Tied down a lot of troops that would have been a tad bit more useful on the Eastern or Western fronts...

Oh, no...the Ukrainians would, and will, resist the Sov's. Just as the Afghans did...probably very effectively.

Updating due to pending ATF decision classifying 80% receivers as firearms. The goverment abhors anything they can't control. Zero people will be safer with this rule. To prove it, the next time you see a gun in public, see if you breathe a sigh of relief once you see it's stamped with a serial number.

I was thinking along the lines of demanding the ATF shut down Home Depot for being an unregistered firearms supplier.
