i was trying to help a younger kid(8-10 years old) who got hit in the arm and all of a sudden my whole leg went numb

I got sent out to assist some Marines who had alot of wounded and on the chopper ride over i was montering the radio and i could hear the desperation escalating to a point of near panic, VERY close small arms fire and mortars and RPGs were being fired at them.

This was going on in the middle of nowhere in some farmers field when we got there we had air cover(an apache) so that way we could get the wounded and the rest of them up and out of the area, their medic was working on the farmers kid who was shot in the lower arm but above the wrist.

So i got all the wounded to the transport and i went back to tell the rest of them it was time to go kind of thing and as me and the other medic are carrying this no unconscious kid(8 years old) my hole left leg went numb.

i knew i got hit and i went face first into the dirt and i could see the guys who were shooting at us and obviously i and the other medic returned fire and the apache took care of the guys shooting. i went from being the rescuer to having to be rescued because we were trying to help the kid who was shot.

thankfully it was not a serious injury and i was back walking in less than a week, the round was in my upper leg/hip area and had the mussel had pressed up on the neve and that's why i couldnt walk but as soon as i woke up from surgery i could wiggle my toes and bend my knee and all that and was up on my feet in a few days.

there was sone copper that is TINY that they just couldnt find for whatever reason and just left it in there, again it is like millimeter sized.
