I've been wondering the same. Many Russians have friends/relatives in Ukraine.

It must play on their consciences.

Maybe why things aren't going so well?

Are their hearts really in it?

Your right. A Russian soldier has little motivation for this fight.

My dream scenario is Putin getting overthrown or taken out himself by some group inside the Russian government. I know it's a fantasy but sometimes good things happen.

That and most of the soldiers are conscipts and have very little training. I think Putin thought Ukraine wouldnt fight back and just accept Russian ocupation. He way underestimated the Ukraine and its people. And as more weopons pour in it would not surprise me if the Russian troops start surendering in mass.

If its true that Russian troops are asking Ukrainians for food this isn't going so well for Putin .

I've seen footage of, alleged, Russian troops looting stores and running off with bags of stuff. I cannot remember which city the footage was supposedly shot from, but it was near the Eastern front.

Large Russian convoy on the way to capture Mariupol which is Ukraine's second largest port city after Odessa.

Would Putin ever accept defeat or would he send some suntan rocket into Ukraine?

President ZelenskyyUa needs to appeal to the Russian people and tell them that Ukraine does not want to kill their husbands and sons because of the unjust actions of maniacs. Ask them to rise up against their corrupt government and elect those that will let them live in the 21st century.

Various footage claims that these weapons are in the theater, but I haven't seen any confirmed yet.

This is turning into a proxy war, NATO (and some others) vs Russia, and Ukraine is the front line.

At this point if Putin is defeated I would bet he would turn Ukraine to glass and that would not be such a good idea for the rest of the planet .

Were also learning Russian Armor is no where near as effective as they claimed even with the supposed missile defence systems. Javeli sales are going to go through the roof as it is shown how easily it destroys Russian tanks.

Airbase shot and / or drones shot by Su-35 air superiority and air defense.

He won't be defeated. He'll send everything he has if he needs to.

The only way he's losing this is if his own people removing him. If Ukraine can increase the body count and hold out for a few months that might just happen.
