Last post on the Olympics (for now); I had (3) burrs under my saddle blanket and this is the final one.

Athletes who live in the United States, who train in the United States, who use the facilities of the United States...should they be allowed to go compete for another country???

Here's my take on the issue. If you want to take in all the advantages the United States to get you to the Olympics, and then want to go compete in the Olympics (a source of national pride) for another country...well...fine, you go right ahead! Just surrender your passport, and sign this form renouncing your United States Citizenship before you walk down the Jetway to get on the plane!

I'm looking at YOU, Eileen Gu, Zhu Yi and so many others.

You are free to go! Just don't plan on coming back, TRAITOR!

And that's all I have to say about the matter.

The natural result of raising everyone to believe they should be a hyphenated American and that America is a horrible, hateful, evil racist place. Why would you want to compete for it?

AFAIK, she did surrender her citizenship.
Fell twice and started to cry.

Understood. Regardless, many of them don't, and it's awful aggravating to see the MSM showing their American families back here in the USA cheering them on from their cozy American living rooms rather than the hovel they would be living in if they had remained in China or wherever.

I don't like to see any athlete crash and burn in the Olympics in front of the World, but I'll be perfectly honest when I say I feel a whole lot less badly about it when it happens to one of these 'traitors'. Hopefully that makes sense.

They are traitors and probably too young & oblivious to realize what life in China & NK etc is like.
Women can't wear make-up freely in NK or have just any hair style they want. There's a list of 'dear leader' approved hair styles . So certainly not any wild colors and certainly not walking around half naked ( like in these cropped tank tops & tiny shorts).
I really wish that the world could split into two. Lefties/libbies permanently move to China,NK, Venezuela etc , while us sane people get to enjoy a prosperous free world full of innovation , hope and possibilities.

I agree if they want to play for the other side, they should be stripped of their citizenship. Let them suffer the consequences of their decision.

Though at least Nathan Chen is not a sell out, the poor kid is copping a lot of abuse as he wouldn’t defect to China on wring, and some media.

He stood his ground.

This is big news here, like every day time news program is slamming her for her unusual DIS - "loyalty for the govt. that gave her and her family to see the happiness of one that can travel around the world in a USA passport.
SHE CAN STAY IN CHINA NOW, MAYBE HER MOTHER WILL GO, IF NOT, WHAT ABOUT MOTHERLY LOVE

Though she is high profile, though having a profile is no guarantee that she won’t be out into a facility and only dragged out for propaganda purposes.

It makes sense.

And you are correct.

I have trouble listening to those Aussie (representing Australia) athletes who speak with an accent.

Seems fake. Good on the genuine ones.

Kind regards,

Bally

I agree with what you say as far as it goes, but my concern is not with traitors in the Olympics.

My concern is with traitors in the White House, in Congress in powerful US institutions and state and local government. Those are the traitors who are doing real damage!

Technically Eileen Gu has to give up US citizenship per Chinese law. When asked if she did she refused to answer.

Source? Per law she has to, was asked point blank, refused to answer which sounds like she made a deal with China to keep it and China doesn't want it publicized.

FCD,

Dunno. I just miss the days of muscular East German women winning all the medals

Seriously. I think ALL sports should have regional teams again. You wanna play for Chicago, you'd better be from the Windy City. Then the contests between teams would actually be interesting, IMO.

Cheers
