I can skew the results of a poll several ways. Where I ask the questions. The time of day I ask my questions and several others.

Those are just some small things, that we can think about in five minutes.

Imagine what a staff, working full-time for years, with million$$ on the line : could come-up with ?

When I took Statistics in College our instructor went into how polls can be skewed. Say I'm conducting a poll at a Mall and I want to slant the results to the Left. I ask my questions between 10 AM and 12 PM and 1 PM to 4PM. If I want to slant it to the Right I ask my questions after 5 PM. It's just playing the odds. People who would be in the Mall in the 10 to 12 and the 1 to 4 slots would tend to be people who don't work or have jobs with unconventional hours. They would tend to lean Left. People after 5 PM would have conventional jobs and would tend to lean Right.
