I've been re-listening to a lot of Opeth lately, can't stop listening .
My laptop's volume doesn't go up high enough

Not much , mostly older only. The last of their new albums I listened to was heritage (didn't care that much for it ) . Why ?

So here is the thing about Opeth.

If you listend to Orchid then you could hear elements of what they have become.

Do I prefer the SL, BEP and GR Era of opeth..yup.
Do I enjoy them currently, yup.

Heavy doesn't need tr00 kvlt growls to be heavy..so don't let anyone convince you not to listen to recent stuff.

It's different but it's still them..well other than all the drum and guitar changes.

Also yes..The Moor is a great song.
If you have a chance listen to any of the 5.x multichannel mixes..Hearing them this way is ridiculous in a good way

Watershed is their last good album in my opinion. Growls aren't needed for a heavy sound, I know that
I just prefer their older albums , I got into them when I first heard their Blackwater Park album
Mikael is also becoming older sadly, he doesn't sound that great anymore live. If I watch a concert from them online I seek out their older concerts mostly

To each his or her own because I am not going to try and convince you of anything I'll just say this about them live.

I've been lucky and seen Opeth live 17 times total and of those shows the more recent Red Rocks concert is by far the best I have heard him sound on clean or growling.
