During a keynote at the Apex Developer Summit in Tallin, XRPL Labs developers showcased a demo of xPoP, the Proof-of-Payments protocol that enables the blockchain perform XRPL-based transactions without an Internet connection.

Any device that integrates the xPoP protocol will have a QR code to make payments with assets on XRPL instantly, without both parties being online. The developers hope that this protocol will diversify the way the ledger is used and can still be used by devices that do not connect to the Internet.

There are winners out there, and in the long run Bitcoin/Etherium and their kind ain't gonna make the cut.
