Lurking Media Pirates?

I'm just askin'...

Has anyone else ever posted something funny or insightful on ATS...and noticed an extremely similar comment or joke by a pundit or host on an MSM news or opinion show that same day/night or the next?

I've noticed this several times over the years...and have wondered if show writers and/or pundits occasionally use ATS for show material.

I don't want it to stop...and am not offended...

I'm just askin'.

Many, many, times!!

I'm CERTAIN there are numerous media types who lurk here in the shadows stealing stories and ideas because they have none of their own, and are too lazy to do any real research!

I've seen it more times than I can count!

Yes, I've seen it. I'm sure some of the more popular podcasters watch this site. I don't watch mainstream news on TV, so I couldn't say if they're also lifting stuff from here.

Hey, good day. As a songwriter...we often write stuff only to hear it on the radio almost immediately by someone else. Same.

I think we all tap into the Greater ALL or Akashic Record.

That which exists, did exist, will alway exist. We travel creatively in ad out of those places.

In their mind, they think that is how you do real research.

They've even convinced themselves that they're hard at work.

Yup -- I've seen it!

I've even seen particular verbiage or turns of phrase repeated verbatim by both alternate and mainstream media. A few months ago, another poster commented on this within a thread, and how certain comments and terms and thoughts were repeated -- near verbatim, if not actually verbatim -- on other websites including Big Media.

I fully believe that lots of folks come to ATS to read and lurk with no intention of posting... I also fully believe that lots of folks come to ATS to steer and direct the dialogue...

Yes they took a whole compilation of mine.
I've also read things too similar from other members.

Yes it's possible for people to have similar thoughts etc. but sometimes they are downright just copying.

It's even worse than you think.

They stole my wooden leg, eye patch and parrot.

Pretty sure my treasure map has gone missing, too. Jokes on them, though. that map is a fake I prepared to wind up the History Channel.

I use ATS and what people post here as my main creative inspirations. I've even given screen credit on some of my short films. I told my screen writing group about ATS.

I'm not lurking, I participate.

I humorously use the ATS pic from the People forum as my avatar, but its exactly what i look like..
