news.bbc.co.uk
A pair of Hungarian tourists in Egypt have been stabbed after kissing in a public market near a historic mosque.
Police said a man attacked the two with a knife as they paused at Cairo's famed Khan al-Khalili bazaar.

The attacker - who was described by police as "mentally unstable" and "depressed" - was apparently enraged by their public show of intimacy.

Please visit the link provided for the complete story.

Fortunately, the couple escaped with only minor injuries, and the attacker was promptly arrested. The police say he was "mentally unstable".

Whilst that may be the case, Egypt's tourism industry has taken many hits over the past few years from repeated attacks against Foreign (mainly western) visitors by Islamic militants and other extremist groups.

The police's description of the man as unstable may be true, but one has to wonder, is this indicitive of general Muslim attitude to foreign visitors in their land, and the way they can be expected to be treated?

Well is nice to know that US is not the only country with its share of crazy people around.

I can't imaging been in my honeymoon or something and been all loving with my husband and be attacked by somebody for being happy.

I wonder why all the negitive votes?

If the title had been "Muslim stabbed by EVIL ZIONIST" it would have been voted in by now.....LOL

It seems that as a further development of ATSNN, only staff now see the votes in progress?

Some people might be enraged by such a development, let us hope they do not emulate the osculation-offended Egyptian.

I will have to take your word for it Amuk, but it doesn't surprise me.

Almost everyone of my damn stories gets a load of negative votes. No one seems to look at content, and some have even said in the threads about voting that they vote depending on the source or supporting links, and not the story itself.

Despite the fact I mainly post from the BBC, some still like to put down perfectly good stories.

EDIT: Suprise bloody surprise....it got voted no.
