We (me & fam) did things a little different this year with sort of a mash-up of taking a hint from Hanukkah in that we each opened one random gift of
the giver's choice day starting last Sunday.
And, the rest (more personally impactful ones) were opened last night (Christmas Eve, European custom in general, IIR)
I kinda like it this way, Christmas felt MUCH more cozy with everyone gathering each evening after dinner for it. Instead of the single day rush of
excitement & so forth, it was more mellow & more meaningful
Right now, though, I'm going to go stand in the kitchen & watch muh newly unwrapped bread maker do all the work while I go
Squeeeeee!
(Seriously, it's awesome, thanks mom! Already made 2 loaves & a pizza dough batch for dinner)
