The James Webb Telescope will attempt to find what exoplanets have atmospheres that humans could breathe.

In what exoplanets do you think we could breathe?

If the covid mandate is not stopped I hope the James Webb blows up in space along with the Hubble. I hope the whole planet blows up.

Only to the folks ignorant of the real science behind the fluff .

Please elaborate.

Real science/fluff(science, I presume?)

Tia.

That won't help. Science is compromised right now. We can't lose everything over it and expect to do well. Granted this money might have been spent in other ways, it is a cause that advances mankind's knowledge. We are one good Solar blast away from being in the Stone age again, and I would like to think exploration can be able to find new planets one day so the stone age can be averted because we moved to the stars.

well not until it takes a closer look at this one.

Scientists recently discovered a planet roughly 10 times the size of Jupitor orbiting around two stars previously thought to be too hot for a planet to exist around.

According to an article published in the scientific journal Nature on Wednesday, the discovery of the planet, dubbed “b Centauri (AB)b” or “b Centauri b,” challenges existing ideas of how stars form.

“Until now, no planets had been spotted around a star more than three times as massive as the Sun,” wrote the European Southern Observatory, which used its Very Large Telescope in Chile to photograph the planet.

Well..excuse me on asking a genuine question.

I thoughtpeople where here to share(info) and develop better understanding(s) on subjects, topics and ideas.
My question won't remain a question for.long.

Thx for the motivation to dive into what you may possible mean. Specifically the ambiguous nature.of your comment I initially replied to.

Find one. Load some humans into a rocket ship and launch them towards in 1000 years we may know something.

Kinda sorta maybe...

I'm going on the assumption that the Webb will be seeing light in other galaxies so it will only be a snapshot of planets from thousands of years ago or longer.

Granted, thousands of years is a blink of the eye in the cosmic realm but still,

Not like we will ever get there anyway.

O^2, the oxygen we breathe in our atmosphere, is an unstable bond. Its existence on earth is a result of a chemical reaction from plants doing what they do. 0^2 in an atmosphere would be an indicator that something biological or unnatural was happening there, and proceed with the most extreme caution for humanity's sake.
